FaceID is frustrating. I miss my touch ID. I wish daily I would have just gone with an 8.
The oposite here. Love Face ID and don't miss Touch ID the slightest. Glad I did not spend my money on an iPhone 6SSS.
FaceID is frustrating. I miss my touch ID. I wish daily I would have just gone with an 8.
For me, to name a few:
Photoshop
Illustrator
Sketch
Ableton Live
The sound of what you tell yourself to soothe your buyer's remorse must be soothing, because ultimately you feel bad about paying ~1000 dollars for something functionally equivalent to a toy. It's fine to spend your money how you please, but don't try to pretend that a tablet is something it's not just because you bought into the Apple marketing. None of those apps you listed are remotely comparible to any desktop equivalent, because they have to work on a limited mobile operating system that is designed for use with fat fingers (compared to the precise and accurate pointer of a mouse) on lower powered devices that run on batteries. Not only are the creative apps sigificantly less in number, but they're also significantly inferior in functionality. The sound of your own voice in your private echo chamber must be comforting.
No iOS app store alternative is even in the same universe as as Photoshop (functionality, features, and performance-wise) unless your use case for Photoshop is equivalent to MSpaint (drawing smiley faces with a brush).I know about photoshop but there are alternatives on the AppStore and really good too. As for the rest, can you please elaborate? I am just trying to understand.
Personally I don't like this kind of lightning. Its' a bit odd and i would not use it for any work! You look stunning of cause Im only talk lightningWhen it works (and I'd say it works as intended less than 50% of the times) Stage Lighting outputs some stunning, vibrant portraits.

I'm not trying to be smart here, but is this an example of Studio Lighting "Working" or "Failing". Because that looks like it was done in MS-Paint. The heavy flat cut along your left cheek and right side of hair. And the top of the hair is just jagged lines with no blending. And the black and white seems to change it to an low bitrate monochrome. Not to mention your face is (kinda) in focus but your hair is Faux-keh into a blur.
Again, not trying to be a jerk because I get it. A lot of times we take these photos, admire the perfection on our "huge" 5in phones and then post it to Facebook or print it to 8x10. And then when you see how it looks on a large screen (or small printout) the flaws jump out and start chomping on your eyeballs. The photo you posted is huge and on my computer i can see everything.
Then when you didn't prove the above, you moved the goal post to this:A tablet is not a computer. It's a toy best suited for light media consumption.
Find in the post you quoted where it states a tablet is comparable to a desktop.None of those apps you listed are remotely comparible to any desktop equivalent, ...
All irrealevant to orignal claim. This would be a hyperbole opinion based on your anecdotal experience. You can't even write an e-mail on a tablet without wanting to kill yourself, and if you have to carry around a keyboard you might as well carry around a laptop. It will weigh about the same, be much easier to use, and you can do real work on it.
You can still go to the 8 and sell your X for much more.
ok, so I think it's about definition what a "stunning, vibrant portrait" isWhen it works (and I'd say it works as intended less than 50% of the times) Stage Lighting outputs some stunning, vibrant portraits.

I believe the vast majority of the photos are consumed on the devices that shoot them, or similarly sized devices. In those displays, this kind of photo looks stunning, trust me as I see people literally speachless when I show them the pictures. They work well on an “emotional” level.
Fear not, I’m certain his beard is already back in full effect. Clearly, it’s his bread and butter.Nice to see Enok in such a prominent commercial.I’ll miss that beard - hope he grows it back in.

It can figure me out with or without glasses or even sunglasses but I have the attention feature turned off so it doesn’t need to see my eyes.I love the portrait modes, have used them quite a bit with my X, especially when taking pics of my grandkids. The pics come out so phenomenal!
As for Face ID, it's hit or miss with me. Most of the time it works. It DOES NOT adapt to my face when I take off my glasses and I made sure to set up the initial Face ID both WITH and WITHOUT glasses, but it only recognizes me WITH my glasses on. If I take them off, forgetaboutit.
Your iPad does less than 10% of what your Mac or PC does. It just does 90% of what you happen to do. A tablet is not a computer. It's a toy best suited for light media consumption.

That is great for you and sad for all those who do have issues..Sounds like user error across the board. I don't have any of these problems with my X.
You've seen this first hand? That is great for you and sad for all those who do have issues..
Aside from that, as long as they have the notch covering the display and ruining my video experience, I won't purchase this thing. I bet the next gen will get rid of it...
Also, it is so ridiculous to open and use when you lie in bed and it is all dark.... before I'd just put my thumb on the home btn and be going.. With Face ID I'd feel like a moron let alone kick my girl out the bed if she sat there and stared funnily at here device while trying to unlock it...
Come to think of it, FaceID seems like Apple's all-year April's fool day... Folks look really funny in the metro trying to unlock that thing... Pay 1000+ USD to look weird in public. There truly are no boundaries to what people will go thru' to own the latest Apple Device![]()
yes, quite a few got them here already. Which actually surprised me as I was in line since day one waiting for one but never got one.. Anyway, I am glad I had this experience which got me ordering the 8 Plus instead. You've seen this first hand?
It could be that people assume you need to place it right in front of your face. Which of course you dont.yes, quite a few got them here already. I'm aware of my original claim; I never moved any goalposts. A tablet is not a computer (we're talking about PCs). It's a toy best suited for light media consumption. The fact that none of the mobile iOS apps on the app store are remotely comparible to any desktop equivalent is supporting evidence for this fact.Your original claim was this:
Then when you didn't prove the above, you moved the goal post to this:
Find in the post you quoted where it states a tablet is comparable to a desktop.
All the information provided was to show the tablet can be more than a "light media consumption" device for some.
And since you used the the generic term tablet does that also include Microsoft Surface?
All irrealevant to orignal claim. Again a reminder, this is what you claimed:

It's a universal fact that typing on a touch screen is a horrible experience compared to say, a full-sized mechanical keyboard. I type 100 WPM on a real keyboard. No one types 100 WPM on a touch screen. It feels like ****. You also have to hit a button to see the numbers and the symbols, and then hit another button to go back to the letters. Something as simple as writing an email on a tablet takes ages. A tablet is 30 years backwards in productivity for the tradeoff of being nice to use on the couch to watch videos on when you have nothing to do.This would be a hyperbole opinion based on your anecdotal experience.
When it works (and I'd say it works as intended less than 50% of the times) Stage Lighting outputs some stunning, vibrant portraits.
Face ID rocks. Is it perfect? No, but eventually, like Touch ID, it'll be far more precise than it is. And we all know it'll become the defacto standard, Samsung with come out with a copy as usual soon.
At first I missed Touch ID like anything, but, you adapt. This is the next generation of phones now, so we need to get used to it.
That is great for you and sad for all those who do have issues..
