No offence but if your photos look the same from your Sony a7iii as your iPhone then you either have a crappy kit lens or you don't know how to use your camera.
I have a Sony F4 24-105mm lens, which is a solid lens. Also, how can you even come up with a comment like that without seeing any examples is beyond me! Where did I even say the "same"? (similar is not the same, re-read my post) You can squeeze very nice results out of the X under the right light and in post, of course. Maybe you don't know what you're doing with your phone camera LOL

As opposed to bricks, 20 lb weights etc?
Or even just dropping it to the floor. Or hitting it with pens, pencils, cups, etc. Things that might normally hit an iPhone. Show keys dropping onto it. Show a toddler hitting it repeatedly with their little wooden hammer (for those peg toys) and their sippy cup, maybe sticking a corner into their mouth. Show a little kid reaching for something else and knocking it off of the countertop onto a tile floor. We just want to know if it can survive normally daily use for 95% of people. Sure these bad things don't happen every day, but they just have to happen once during a multi-year period for it to be an issue. Otherwise we're just going to have to keep needing cases.

So basically show the phone being abused with enough force to break it? What does that show? That the phone is breakable?

I thought the point of the commercial was to show that it was stronger/more durable? But they were hitting it with cake and lettuce. What does that show? That's the point. It should take the amount of abuse I mentioned without breaking, or else this commercial is pointless—which is what I was getting at. Those objects I mentioned are closer to everyday use. I'd be happy if you could just drop the damn phone without it cracking on either side. Sure if it hits just right it might not break, but if that's not the minimum bar then what's the point of anything? I'm looking forward to the tests on YouTube.

I'm more impressed by the strength of the lightning connectors XD
They probably just welded it at the bottom. That or made a custom enclosure.

I like how there were completely no scratches on the Phone even with all that! I look forward to iPhone 12.

package the fresh broccoli, and send it to africa. OOOPS!
Fresh food which can’t be sold is donated too poorer and less fortunate people within the community. It’s becoming a thing in retail. Don’t has to send to other continents necessarily.

New Cinematic ad ... hmmm ... unusual for Apple to be unprofessional. At 1.25 you can see the iPhone, gimbal and camera man's hand in the mirror. Mistake or Deliberate?

Knowing dogs, he probably had a lot of fun!

The problem is, in both the apple video and your photo, the dog is exposed to wind. Seems cute, right? Then airborne, wind-driven debris slams into the dog's eyes...or its mouth...and the creature is suddenly in horrible agony, likely far from proper medical help, and it might just die in agony, too.

Toughness is a measure of how much stress the glass can be subjected to before it breaks. Tough glass usually scratches easily.

Yep, in less than a week I got a small but noticeable scratch on the screen despite treating it with kid gloves.
