Nobody can say that Apple isn’t diverse in choosing songs with differing lyrics from “give thank” to that to that previous commercial with “friends”.😛🎶

Quit not letting us merge Apple id’s and movie libraries. Quit letting HomePods constantly lose their connection to Apple TV as the default audio option. Quit putting thunderbolt ports in Mac studios without enough bus power to actually power tb4 if they are all concurrently used. QUIT releasing overpowered iPads with out Mac OS support. Quit selling full sized home pods at a premium price that inexplicably die right after the factory warranty expires. And finally, QUIT doing pre made apple keynotes and bring back live events!!
Endyear's whine fest! Do you whine like that exaggerating everything for other brand/technologies/stuff? This thread is about three quite funny ads. If you are frustrated like that change platform. Or even better start from your garage and build your dream company I'm sure you can make things better!

Apple has fallen far behind in the fitness realm compared to Garmin and Whoop and its not really even close now. They just phone it in every year with the watch and add fluff to it like "effort" which gives you absolutely zero data and was basically added because Garmin and Whoop both take a look at your workouts and make recommendations on what to do based on the effort you gave in the workout. For Apple its just something you click on the screen that does nothing.

Yeaaaa that’s fair I was just having a moment.

Effort is often automatically assigned to a workout, and what? Absolutely nothing. 🙃 Apple doesn't even adapt to the workouts and efforts it records. If I'm aiming for 1,000 calories for the day, no one at Apple has considered that if I burned 5,000 calories yesterday, it might be worth revising that plan as an automatic suggestion. This isn't rocket science programming. Fortunately, Gentler exists, but how far Apple has fallen behind and how little it's doing about it is unsettling. If Garmin weren't so ugly, the Apple Watch would have been wiped off the wrist this year.

I feel like Apple has stretched themselves too thin. They shed a ton of workers like the rest of Big Tech, while their plethora of products and services barely evolved year-over-year.

They were right to cancel the car project. It just took too long for them to pull the plug. They should dump the Vision Pro boondoggle too. I said years ago that it was a waste of resources to produce an expensive helmet only 5 people were ever going to buy.

They need another Jobs-returning type leadership change to slim down the product lines, realign teams and resources toward making a few quality products (focus on core iPhone, iPad, Mac, and A/V), and quit chasing money-pit fads like AR and AI.

Ahead of 2026 and associated New Year's resolutions, Apple has started sharing new social media ads focused on the Apple Watch as a motivational tool.

Cute. Love the bar stool. (Yes, you can have it both ways. Just gotta finish the workout *first*.)

I may have slightly low goals, but I finish them all every day, and I finish my Monthly Challenges early, as a general rule. The hardest ones in Dallas are in summer, because it is so damn hot out there.

Honestly, my Sleep metrics are the ones that need the most work.

I think having Apple Watch exercise goals really does make a difference for me.

When I think about the Move goal, it is where it is for a reason, and on a normal day, I always meet it, but it is set where it is so that on a really good day, I can reasonably double it, and on a vacation/tourist day, I can triple it.

Some day, I hope to plan a vacation day where I honestly quadruple it. We shall see.

Overall, I think the ad ensemble speaks to Apple's goals in the "health" department.

These look heavily ‘inspired’ by an old Reebok advert:

Belly shall indeed get you

EDIT: @Ta_whirimatea I should really read the whole thread before I post, ya beat us all to it!

“New Years Resolutions” are stupid.

If you truly wish to better yourself, you would do it at any point of the year. If you must wait for a new year for it, you’re not in it to win it.

It’s the truth.
lol there are people downvoting this. actual humans. that's insane

Yeah I’m with you. It’s embarrassing that Apple tries to market the AW as a fitness watch. It literally does nothing but over estimate calories burned during workouts and does nothing with the data it has.

I'm a marathon runner and train daily (use a Garmin, not an Apple Watch). Saw this pop up and was very confused what they were trying to sell me. Ignored it...

My new years's resolution is to quit my Apple Watch. It was quite frankly a needy little bastard that annoyed the living **** out of me. The wrist gremlin. Constantly needs feeding and attention. Oh I need to stand up? I AM ALREADY FFS. Looks like you've been a couch potato today eh??? Dude I did a 50km ultra yesterday and you died half way through it QUIT BUGGING ME. FEED ME. Have a nice animation for getting your exercise goal? It's 11AM, I've just gone for a slash and I did most of it staggering back from the pub at 2AM. Grr. Feed me CJSUK feed me. Oooh now I have a wrist rash!

Mr Casio just sat there and told me the time.
I wore my Apple Watch everyday since the day it came out. So a lot of fa-king years. When I first got the watch I weighed 246lbs. I was an ex-football player then boxer. I just picked up running half marathons when I got my first Apple Watch. Fast forward to December 31, 2024. I still worked out hard but weight just kept loading on. I was up to 341lbs. I quit Apple Watch on Jan 1 2025. Today I weigh 248lbs. I lost in 1 year what that fa-king crap watch put on me. Oh and another thing. I’m far more productive at work now too. I’ll never wear another Apple Watch again.

Still love my iPhone, iPad and Mac’s. I can walk away from those and unplug. Since then I switched to aura ring and it’s so much better. I forget about it most of the day. I check in first thing in the morning and then right before bed to track my stats. So much more accurate than Apple Watch.

Similar story with the AW here and weight loss. 248lb to 145lb. But not until I stopped wearing it for 2 years. Came back and some of the weight went back on again.

Funny because I went from doing nothing to 50km ultras and multi day hiking expeditions without it.

It’s a net negative for health IMHO. I actually stopped using any health related technology and just drank water when I thought I was hungry and ate sensibly when that didn’t work. Dead simple

I had back surgery on New Year's Eve in 2020, so I literally had to wait until the next year to get better. That was my resolution.

What are you on about? The Apple Watch already has a powerful processor, what it really needs is multi-day battery life.
The Series 6, 7, 8, SE 2, and Ultra 1 will drop support at the same time. The Series 9, 10, 11, SE 3, and Ultra 2 and 3 will drop support at the same time... You really want that bad of software support?
