NIGHT MODE finally Apple should release.

Low light pictures should improve, that's the one area where iPhone is not the best camera in the market.
I'm really happy with video, Live Photos are great, and with good light I have little to complain about, but when it comes to night shots or indoor pictures I'm never satisfied.

I never understand why Apple posts 480p videos!!?>!?! Where is the 1080 or 4k? WTF?

As far as I remember, I believe the bad video quality has to do with Apple's refusal to add support for one of Google's Youtube codecs in Safari. So it is definitely Apple's fault the video is useless unless one opens the YouTube app.

Looks like there is a 1080 option... Not sure on why they wouldn't post with 4K
I only had 480p when I played it just after posting. I just looked again... huh Safari shows only 480p as an option. Opera shows 1080p so it is a Safari problem. Why on their videos though?

Apple and Google need to fix their high def codex spat with their YouTube codex. It is bull we can't see YT in 2k+ in Safari or tvOS!

Well, Google is over charging for it... and Apple "never" over pays for patented things, bla bla bla... I say work that into the next deal with Google when they want to be the default search engine again.

There are a couple of advantages. The screen is simply excellent, which can help with composition. The iPhone is also very fast, both in autofocus and image capture. Connectivity is also excellent, meaning you can get an image into Lightroom, Photos or social media easily.

In terms of things like resolution, dynamic range, lens selection and not least ergonomics it is pretty horrible. In my opinion the tradeoff is not worth it, and the iPhone is still not good enough to be your only camera for travel or every day carry.

If the native camera app shot RAW or had some options for the JPEG processor it would help quite a bit.
You should try the HUAWEI P30 PRO and Samsung S10 series before you said this

The P30 Pro is fitted with a 1.7" sensor—1/20th the size of a full-frame camera sensor.

Now, sensor size isn't everything. I enjoy Fujifilm X-series cameras, and those sensors are a tiny bit less than half a full-frame sensor. The cost of that is a little more noise and less dynamic range. For me that tradeoff is acceptable, for others it is simply not good enough.

Given that dynamic range and noise performance is related to sensor size, it is pretty clear that going for a sensor 1/20th of the size of full frame will significantly limit your options.

Everyone seems to like the depth-of-field emulation that modern phones offer. Why not include a large-ish sensor and the possibility of adding a lens? My 56mm f1.2 lens captures exceptional portraits. Phones could offer the real deal instead of this half-baked software trickery. I'd be happy for there to be a lens mount on my camera, even if the phone comes without a lens included. Or perhaps with a ~40mm equivalent pancake to get you started.

This would be a nice profit opportunity for a courageous phone manufacturer.
