This ad looks great but is nothing but misleading. The so called 'camera control' is a waste of time. The theory is fine but in practise it is all but useless. A dumb idea, badly implemented. Sorry Apple but you are really trying my patience.

Apple today shared a new ad titled "Snap-a-Mole" in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey to highlight the iPhone 16 Pro's Camera Control feature.

The ad shows a photographer quickly grabbing photos with the Camera Control on the iPhone 16 Pro, using gestures to zoom in and change Photographic Styles rapidly. As a key feature of the iPhone 16 lineup, the Camera Control has been the subject of Apple ads in the past. From the latest video's description:

The ad ends with the words "Snap in a snap."

Camera Control button is too rigid, when taking pictures the phone will inevitably shake a little bit and the image is blurred. Hope apple will soon fix this. If they can use a solid button and use haptic feedbacks like the iPhone 7 it will be great. In fact, it has haptic feedbacks on the slight press right now, I just don't get it why they don't use a stronger haptic for the hard press.

I don’t mind the camera control button on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, it’s easy to ignore. No reason to change the way I interact with the camera that has worked well for years.

Rather fascinating that a company with brilliant engineers and designers chose to add yet another button of questionable value. Surely they can be more imaginative than this.

I can't stand camera control because I want it to be good, and it just isn't. The control is too far up the side of the phone so when snapping horizontal photos, the first 2 segments of my pointer has to lay across the phone, or overlap the screen, unlike a real camera which you'd just rest your pointer tip on the shutter.

They crammed too much functionality into the haptic half press and menu system, which is not useful, and just leads to me accidentally changing zoom levels and other settings when I don't mean to.
