Ted Lasso - "Sorry I was being such a straight white cisgender male version of the grinch earlier." FFS. What a load of completely judgemental, obnoxious, crud. Way to turn Christmas into an "issue". This short is the Grinch, not anyone critiquing it.
So, sorry for the possibly dumb / uninformed question - is (at least Season 2 of) this show the same "quality" as the "wildy popular" (LOL) Santa Inc?

I love both seasons. Season 2 talked a lot of the psychology aspect and more character development, so in a sense, it had a lot less comedy? I guess that's why people dont like it.

Sounds like what happens to many comedy series. They turn from comedies into "funny drama", with the drama taking the forefront.

I stopped watching BoJack and F is for Family for the same reasons.

If you watch season 1, it's absolutely brilliant. But season 2 slowly dribbled towards what you're saying. And OMG, this Christmas abomination is exactly what you're saying. Do yourself a favour, don't judge the show by this woeful unfunny puke fest, and at least watch season 1, it's the best TV series I've ever seen. Me and my son have watched it 3 times already, and we are both far far from the cancel culture mindset.
Yep, and this Christmas abomination was completely woeful.

Tell me you have no soul without telling me you have no soul…

The plot is laughably childish and neither the problem not the resolution makes much sense, so that's a missed opportunity–but oddly it doesn't completely tank the short. Because the characters are so well formed on the TV show, their personalities are all instantly recognizable here, which allows them do take advantage of some funny bits dialogue here and there and a few middle amusing physical bits. Mostly, it's just fun to see them again. Plus, the line "Why do you have a disguise kit with you?" and the reply " Why don't you have one?" made me laugh out loud. All in all, not great, but better that the Star Wars Wookie Christmas episode.

I liked season one but something changed in the second season. Was unbearable to watch half the time.
Two main issues:
1. Ted went from being the odd, clever-wise outsider from Season 1 to a sometimes manic, sometimes depressed, self-doubter in Season 2.
2. Season 2 was missing the clear, overarching problems/goals/wants of Season 1 that carried through every episode: Will Ted fit in and be accepted? Will he find out his boss's true motivation for hiring him? Will he be able to keep the team from tearing itself apart (Roy & Jamie) and help them get to the next level.

Season 2 had some great individual episodes, and some nice character moments for the ensemble, but overall it lacked the cohesiveness of the first season, and didn't have the calm ebullience of the central character to keep things moving and keep the energy up.

That was a bit random…

I don’t understand people’s problem with season 2 of the show. It had to move forward somehow. Ted can’t hated or doubted all the time & Rebecca can’t be trying to ruin the club. If season 2 had those 2 main plots in, it would have been boring. Ted Lasso is still one of my most favourite shows on  TV+. The theme tune is great as well.

Reminds me of Rick&Morty S01E04 (Meeseeks) where Morty had to come up with an adventure. The laughs flow like trying to squeeze the juice from a dried lemon.

I’m sorry, but like Season 2, I didn’t find this enjoyable or endearing at all.
Yeah, me neither. Season 1 was bomb AF. season 2 the exact opposite. The series quickly lost momentum. It’s like they put all their magic into the first season and now they’ve run out of pixie dust.

It’s also starting to become embarrassing the way Apple tries to milk their “Ted Lasso” succes.

Lasso is a fabulous, intelligently written series. Loved the claymation short too. Apple should do more of these things. Bring Ted and all again next season—I’ll watch.

It’s a good show and this short was worth a watch just for Roy. Season 2 got off to a very rocky start and then failed with a Christmas Special in the middle of summer but it redeemed itself in the second half (pun acknowledged).

I am a huge fan and enjoyed both seasons. While 2 certainly did not have the magic of 1, it was still better than 90% of the drivel out there. I no longer get very invested in streaming series after having Colony cut right as the climax got underway.
The Claymation was silly and childish. A waste of my time.

I am probably one of the few who did not like the show. I tried Season 1 and made it halfway through and just stopped. Not sure why, I love Jason Sudeikis, think he is one of the funniest guys. I also love the UK, I watch a lot of British shows, almost exclusively through BritBox. I did not find this show funny and did not relate or resonate with any of the characters. I wanted to like the show but just could not get on board.

I love Ted Lasso, I agree with some of you the first season was better than the second season. The second season felt rough with Nate's uprising as a villain against Ted because of jealousy and abandonment due to the success of Ted.
