FWIW, I am mostly not interested in the content at Apple TV+ but I've liked some content and I want to check this one out. There has been a lot of polemic about her and I'm curious to know more.

This ... Billy ... is in all intention and purposes through art and performance the modern Michael Jackson, Whiteney Houston, etc. Her Brother is incredibly talented as well and skills that many of you in the audio professional industry would appreciate a conversation or a few with.

Billy has accomplished a LOT and it is HER voice you hear singing, she's no auto-tuned brat to fame.

This is actually NO worse than Michael Jackson's Thriller which actually had elementary schools hand out a letter for parents to watch with their kids on Thriller's debut on TV . I'm old enough to have actually experienced exactly that and I laughed realizing at 12yr old back then - it was marketing.

Kids are not as wholesome or recluse or 'protected' as previous generations. Most kids aged 7 already know what Xan is! My generation at 7 ... the words "i'll <end> u" was huge to say/hear because we know the gravity of such words (<end> is a replacement for a work beginning with K).

Trust me many kids already idolize and dream of being Billy and its all in a positive light.

Definitely a show I'm going to watch - cause I don't dislike music or artists even if the genre isnt' something I understand or listen to on a regular.

I certainly have my prejudices against most pop musicians hyped by the industry, but I've finally listened to her album When we all fall asleep, where do we go? and actually enjoyed it a lot. Not sure I understand all of the negativity on display here.

Looking forward to this documentary.

Almost everything gets negavity here. Most threads are just a cesspool of garbage, I have no idea why I even continue clicking to the comments.

It's not that her songs are good, they are just catchy, and that's all that matters in the pop culture.
All the covers of her songs by others are better, in my opinion. For Example:

She's insufferable. Everything sounds the same. Is her Dad in the business?
She’s far from insufferable lolol. Do you remember that song that goes “I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch”? Now that’s insufferable.

Everything I Wanted is amazing, have you heard that?

I wouldn’t say I’m a fan but she has some great songs, and far better than other music that’s in the pop category today, and definitely better than a lot of past pop hits.

Her brother is a producer and produced some or maybe most/all of her songs, but that doesn’t mean she needed family help to succeed lol.

There’s much worse out there than Billie Eillish.

i wasn’t a fan when I first heard her on the radio. But, and stay with me here, I watched a Carpool Karaoke with James Corden and she was the guest. It changed my opinion, big time. Still not my genre, but she’s immensely talented, not a negative Nellie at all, and most importantly - she’s a human being and doesn’t deserve to be vilified the way it is all too easy and popular to do these days.

Technology super fans and modern/decent music don’t always go hand in hand lol.

You would be surprised by how many commenters have strange super out of date views, while always wanting to be up to date lol.

The target audience for this isn't the majority of the MacRumor's audience. My 16yo? She's going to love it.

She is a homeschool success story too - it will be interesting to me to see that aspect of her life. I'll probably watch it just for that - and to be able to talk about it with the 16yo who is a big fan of hers.
