Apple today shared the official trailer for "Hala," an upcoming movie that is set to debut on Apple TV+ on December 6.

"Hala" is a coming of age story of 17-year-old Hala, who is played by Geraldine Viswanathan. Anna Chlumsky, Jack Kilmer, Gabriel Luna, Azad Khan, and Purbi Joshi also star in the movie.

Seventeen-year-old Pakistani American teenager Hala (Geraldine Viswanathan) struggles to balance desire with her familial, cultural and religious obligations. As she comes into her own, she grapples with a secret that threatens to unravel her family.

Written and directed by Minhal Baig and executive produced by Jada Pinkett Smith, "Hala" was an official selection of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.

"Hala" premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and it will see a theatrical run before it hits Apple TV+. "Hala" will be in theaters starting on November 22, coming to Apple TV+ two weeks later.

Apple TV+ is available starting now, with TV shows that include "Dickinson," "See," "The Morning Show" and "For All Mankind." Right now, the only movie available is "The Elephant Queen," but additional movies are coming to the service in the future.

I like morning show at least, so far the rest has not been good (still need to watch for all mankind, but what I saw from the first half of ep1 was not encouraging). I have high hopes for the sci-fi stuff though.

Lame. Like Water for Chocolate did this years ago with grander humanistic themes wrapped around the culture specific setting of Mexico. No liberal message. Just honest storytelling about a trapped girl yearning for freedom.

This looks more like using a Pakistani girl as an object lesson. I cannot tell you how infuriating it is that people expect me to write about Asian issues or write about the Asian experience only because I am Asian. I was born in America, I don’t know anything about South Korea. Let me you: there is only the human experience.

I know of a black guy who once got a DNA test done, found out his heritage originated in India, not Africa. He felt betrayed and angry. He allowed himself to make choices purely from a “black perspective,” including in his own words: “marrying a black woman.” Shocking that life choices are made purely based on something as banal as race.

Thank you Tim, I appreciate diversity. Please add more diversity with actors that are a part of the LGBt community, as well as add feminist women to the story that should be presented as role models for the younger generations. This perspective will make movies and shows, in my opinion, a masterpiece of true storytelling.

Looking forward to the future of Apple TV+ content. Please make adult oriented films too. Like horror themed shows or shows that have gore in it. Hopefully not too family friendly/

Boring. At least have some preference. I personally would choose semi gloss in shades of pink and yellow. Like like to keeps things light and airy.
