Here's the thing, it's not the color, it's the drying that makes it a story worth watching.

For many it’s a story worth watching. So those where the color they want to see never gets a chance to dry this is a welcomed site.

Goodness, the “this looks boring” crowd (i.e. White and Male) really muddies these forums up when it comes to this Apple TV+ content.

if it doesn’t resonate with you, that’s fine. You don't have to watch. But God forbid you’d learn something from lesser-known experiences from other people.

The Morning Show, See, For all (Wo)Mankind and Dickinson... all have something in common. Plus this. And then Oprah.

I'm beginning to wonder who exactly the demographic is for AppleTV+

None of these shows portray Men and Women equally.
Wow - you are wrong. Morning Show does a great job showing things from a man's perspective and drawing a line between actual predators and people who made mistakes but were caught up in the #MeToo movement. Once you get past the first episode and start seeing the subtle direction that the show goes you see a lot of pro-male nuance.

Dickinson is amazing. Just because it features a woman does not make it geared to women.

The Man in Mankind stands for Human not Man or Woman, hence it's short for Humankind.

It’s almost as if art imitates life :) ATV+ content is available in 100+ countries so things the US might like could be flops in other countries, and things we don’t like could be hits elsewhere.

Yes, some of the content seems to be quite upsetting to some, but MR never promised this would be a safe space.

Unfortunately, those who are triggered by ATV+ content can’t seem to ignore the articles or keep their anger in check, so there are some inappropriate comments.

But I don’t think that’s a problem with how MR classifies ATV+ articles. Sure, some think MR should cater only to what they personally want to see; there are always going to be snowflakes who think the world should conform to their wishes. Of course that’s not actually how the world works. They’ll probably figure that out at some point. Or not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you Tim, I appreciate diversity. Please add more diversity with actors that are a part of the LGBt community, as well as add feminist women to the story that should be presented as role models for the younger generations. This perspective will make movies and shows, in my opinion, a masterpiece of true storytelling.

Looking forward to the future of Apple TV+ content. Please make adult oriented films too. Like horror themed shows or shows that have gore in it. Hopefully not too family friendly/
How about we get good writers and good actors.

What’s really the saddest of all, is those who’d use or expect TV programming to be an education experience or as a source of real life experience.

It’s totally artificial, re-contextualized visual junk food for the weakest of human senses. It’s a quick, cheap endorphin hit, the exact opposite stimulus needed when trying to convey any deeper understanding. Whatever titillation people might get off this Apple show, it certainly isn’t anything resembling real learning. Fables to pacify the peasants, at best.

“Don’t watch too much TV, it will rot your brain.” is a now a measurable social phenomena and the amount of TV consumed, correlates exactly with the timeline of decline in hard (grammar/math/science) educational standards.

"See" has been pretty fascinating thus far.
I wish I could like it, it just feels half baked to me for some reason. Maybe it’ll get better.

This is a dumb take... Nobody is forcing you to watch the Ken Burns documentary on country music so you can “learn something” about white America in the 60s. If it’s boring to you then don’t watch it, and if you think it’s cool don’t criticize other people for not watching it.

Lemme guess. She’s pregnant or LGBT+

Ironic that she’s being played by an Indian-origin actress 😆

making movies and shows now is all about targeting a sect or a current issue to gain their interest. Its no longer about art and telling a good story. Apple tv+ service, despite quality, seems like they took a pie-chart and divided it into different market sects and made a show to address each part of society.

After all, Apple is only interested in the money and if it works it works.

I was watching a TV show the other day and it made the point, rather convincingly, that correlation does not imply causation :)

Actually, I would say many people have been forced, coerced or otherwise artificially obligated to watch a Ken Burns documentary at some point.

Yes, yes... Mythbusters.

But you forget, we learned those guys were totally full of $#@% when they unceremoniously fired Carrie, Grant and the bike crash guy, so Adam could keep dressing up in movie prop costumes for another year.

Never trust the TV.

No, not Mythbusters, I don’t watch that show. I didn’t forget about that incident to which you refer, as I never knew of it.

But whether it was on TV or not isn’t particularly relevant, as it is true. At least according to my stat professor. “Correlation does not imply causation.” I can hear him say it as we speak :)

But by all means, let’s not limit in any way the breadth of our skepticism. Newspaper, magazine, radio, television—and above all ANYTHING on the Internet—should be met with a healthy dose of skepticism. One must “consider the source”.

I like morning show at least, so far the rest has not been good (still need to watch for all mankind, but what I saw from the first half of ep1 was not encouraging). I have high hopes for the sci-fi stuff though.

For All Mankind bored me. Sad because I thought it's what would pique my interest, but instead I am more hooked into The Morning Show which I didn't expect.
