"So how does that GPU work in games, which seems to be the only real mass market draw for a VR..."
Thinking AVP is only about VR games totally misses the point.

I didn't say the VP was only about VR games, I said the only real mass market draw for VR seems to be games.

Fair enough. I have no experience with headsets and intend to keep it that way until the end of time. I was just surprised by 2+ hours 👍

Awesome! Glad you shared your opinion based on your detailed knowledge of the space. I just do not understand why people who are not interested in the category at all feel compelled to comment on specific features of a device they will never use.

It is bad enough to see the hundreds of posts of people saying: “I do not plan to buy one, this product will fail!” as if their opinion was interesting. Do you post on Meta Quest and HTC sites about your lack of interest or are we the only ones that have to wade through these kinds of posts?

Cool your jets Rambo. I didn't state that I wasn't interested. Clearly I am or I wouldn't be reading and commenting. I don't ever intend to own or use one, for reasons I have kept to myself, but I'm fairly sure I'm still allowed to take an interest in the technology.

You stated that you will never own one. If you are not a customer for the product (for whatever reason: from physical to medical to something else), nor will ever be, and have never used anything in the category, I am not sure why you think your opinion about its feature set matters? As a non-user, you are speculating about what others who actually use this tech will want, with no information. A perfect example of this lack of knowledge is your original comment in which you did not even know that one could operate the device connected to power.

It’s called open discussion. I was surprised by a feature because I have no experience of similar devices. I was corrected. I graciously acknowledged the correction. We moved on. You should probably do the same. You’ll live longer 👍

Not buying, so why whine?
"Ignorants" are those folks dissing a new product from the world's by far most successful tech company before the new product is even released, let alone had time to mature.
"Ignorants" are people like you who extrapolate, twist, and project your own insecurities onto other people's comments meaning things they clearly don't. There's always got to be one on here, doesn't there. Grow up.

So it get 16GB RAM, this is very telling in my book about Apple.

Here is the unofficial baseline for Apple Silicon imo; it must be not very efficient so as to require 16.

Can’t wait to see the real-world testing.

Didn’t realise the battery life was barely long enough to watch a movie. Spare battery is a must, and heavy users are gonna need a grenade belt full of ‘em. Bonkers.

I don’t think this is true, but now I want a grenade belt full of battery packs anyway.

It's fine if it's too rich for your blood... a lot of people share that opinion...or reality... but you dilute yourself by declaring those that purchase it as 'ignorant.' This isn't about Apple greed, it's about Apple Tech.
Just look at apple tech how behind is everyone right now. Thank you.
