I know this will trigger some people... but as a band collector it annoys the piss out of me that the color options between the solo loop and sport band are not consistent. For some reason the sport band doesn't always get the all the cool new colors anymore.

It's also apparent that they have serious issues supplying the different SKUs for the solo loop. Right now, most of the solo loops on Apple's website do not even ship until November 9th or later. Some very select sizes have ship dates of October 25th. For an Apple Watch band accessory?? That's ridiculous.

Just get rid of the solo loop. The sport band is better. People can buy a braided solo loop if they really want no clasp.

How about woven nylon? I bought one a long time ago cause that was the ONLY material that doesn’t constantly trigger allergic reaction. And smh Apple decides To discontinue it and never release again? Like what? Why?

I started collecting after the wovens were already discontinued, but it still hurt when I learned. I love the wovens, they're my favorite style. I'd love to see Apple bring them back, but I have a feeling that they're gone forever. It's really weird how we went so long without a traditional buckle design, but the Ocean Band gives me renewed hope. Then again, Jumping Single Tours from Hermes probably have something stipulated in the contract saying Apple can't make a woven nylon type band again.

we can hope!

the solo loop once you find "your size" is the best everyday band for Apple Watch. I absolutely love it and nothing else is so thin around the entirety of the loop, nor as easy to take on and off. I love many other types of band including your sports loop favorite, as well as others like the new ocean band, braided solo loop, and some 3rd party bands but solo loop is incredible.

Yeah… more like a pipe dream than anything else, considering those woven nylon bands back then wasn’t the most expensive bands. I have no idea about the backstory behind the decision to permanently discontinue woven nylon. I’m then forced to buy third party woven nylon bands cause every other material would trigger allergic reaction (itch, rash, sweat) in a few minutes, which makes watch (not just Apple Watch) unbearable to wear. As such, I can understand why PWM is such a big deal for some people and their frustration realising apple has done absolutely nothing to address it.

what about the Link Bracelet? It's an expensive gem but it's sooo comfortable. Fun to play with, too.

Personally I don’t like either the Solo Loop or the Sport Band but I’m sure a lot of other people do so I certainly wouldn’t want them discontinued.

Uh, feels a bit too expensive for me at the moment. Maybe after a while I might change my mind.
I think it's weird that society sees being a collector as a perfectly normal and good thing to be.

Being a collector means you are hoarding lots of stuff you're not using - stuff you can't use because you have so much of it, and there's only so much time in the day.

Another word for this is waste.

It's bad enough that this is considered so socially acceptable. I certainly don't see why anyone ought to pander to collectors.
It’s been so accepted by society people sell collectors item (figures, coins, badges, stickers etc) at exorbitant price tag 🏷️ and they sell, very well.

There‘s the satisfying feeling of having a whole set of stuff at play too. “Hey, I have this pair of figures, so one can sit at each side of my monitor” “Look, I have a whole collection of lanyards and I pick the color I like during the week”. Some may also argue it’s their “lifestyle”.

The root cause is obviously unequal Resource distribution, but that’s a problem worth spending an entire lifetime to solve, of which we don’t have.

I think it is absurd to want Apple to discontinue a line of bands just so you can have your obsessive band collection the way you expect it.
I can’t believe the OP is a serious post. Apple doesn’t make bands for band collectors. They make bands for people that wear watches and use them.

Apple should discontinue something because of some issue with someone’s collection really 🤦‍♂️

But isn't there how the world works?

I don't like something, therefore company X should just discontinue it. Even though it literally doesn't affect me in any way or form.

When I say I am a collector I don't literally mean I collect them like pokemon cards. If that were the case, I'd just buy a solo loop and be done with it. I actually wear the bands, which is why it's annoying when Apple doesn't do certain colors (especially ones matching the silicone cases) in the sport band.

What gives you the idea that if Apple were to discontinue the solo loop that that would mean that they would add more sport band colors. If they don’t care enough about the sport band to give it colors, why should they not discontinue that model?

I concur: the one that I have now is for my old Series 7, which I was using solely for exercise. The thing is, it's not even good for that since there's NO ventilation whatsoever, not to mention that they're a pain to get off, especially after your wrist swells from the heat of a workout and the sweat dries. I'm glad that there are alternate bands, with my favorite being Apple's new Ocean Band for my Ultra! It's surprisingly comfortable and actually stays on my wrist while swimming! Add in the fact that cleaning it is a breeze, and I would say goodbye to this great in theory, but not so great practically band from any more use or consideration!

$100ish used if you can find a listing before a band hoarder snatches it up. Even less if you're 38/40/41mm.
I have a slightly used link bracelet from my original series 0 sitting right here on my desk in its box. Should be repurposed to a good home and to clear some clutter. Will post in marketplace or band collectors, send me a message.

Switched to sport bands and never looked back. But it’s a beautiful band and more comfortable than the link bracelet on my submariner.

Even better if you have the original microfiber cloth and link pouch. Mine never came with those!

I don’t think I got those either, but I’ll check in the series 0 box!
If your S0 came with the Link Bracelet, it definitely came with the microfiber cloth and link pouch. It'll be in the little holder thing with your warranty information and the user guide. I bought my link used, though, so sadly didn't get those!

Sport band is uncomfortable as hell. Apple should just discontinue it because I don’t like something about it. If people want a clasp they can’t just buy something else

I'm a bracelet person for most watches, but I find the Apple Sport band to be very comfortable to the point, that I usually wear a Sport Band over my Link Bracelet. I love Sport Bands. To each their own.
