The AU store is up... why do they need to shut stores in countries not affected?
Just imagine if this happened in the real world, you local supermarket closing because they need to add new stock in China![]()
The US store is up too.

Belgium here. 00:23h . Need to get some sleep, but waiting for this freaking phone.
Will it actually make a difference if we buy it now or buy it in the morning??
This is not true. The iPhone 5S was listed, contract-free and unlocked for $1049 NZD outright on Apple's NZ online store before it went down.
Interesting; there were a number of posts over at Geekzone complaining that they weren't able to buy directly from Apple.
"They ran out of the gold iPhone?! UGHHHHHHH!!"
Now the 3rd world can have 1st world problems.![]()

I'm really shocked that they could miss it. It was literally right there in the home page of the Apple Online Store. Here is a screenshot from Google Cache. You can still find it yourself.
It was listed on the NZ store with prices etc, however, it stated "unavailable to ship" which is probably why they were complaining.
You still weren't able to buy, or put it into basket. It said currently unavailable.
OK, so it was technically listed, but wasn't available for purchase, which is what I meant. I've amended my original post to clearly show my intent.
Store is online again, but 2-3 weeks is a joke, why let people order the phone if they are not in stock?
I never made a purchase through Apple online store before. If would by it now, can I cancel order later? Just in case if I will find it somewhere sooner.
