A thread about non-US countries is like heaven for the average grammar nazi.

Its ridículos that the second wave of countries already started selling the iphone witha 2 to 3 weeks delivery time. Because of that I didnt buy it!!! Shame on you apple!!! Although the carriers are selling in physical store now here in Portugal but I dono want to buy it locked to a carrier.

"Shame on you, Apple?" Seriously?

Look, it sucks. I'm in Portugal as well. We are not special just because we're Portuguese. This was expected. For some reason Apple didn't announce the launch dates for Portugal (and the other 2nd wave countries) during the iPhone keynote. It's just that there aren't enough components to build enough iPhones 5s to the whole world.

I went to the Optimus República store last night, and their supplies of the 5s were ridiculously tight. They only had the 16GB model in silver and black (or space grey, or whatever). I spoke to a friend, and he told me to wait. Same price, unlocked? Yeah, it's worth the wait.

EDIT: BTW, if you want the gold iPhone, you really have to wait. Optimus said it would only have that color available on November 12th. So, you're better off buying it through Apple Store online.

I had set my alarmclock to 11:55pm last night, and was ready to place an order from my carriers homepage. They had technical difficulties so I went back to bed, and tried again at 6:30am. Went straight in and ordered a 32GB white, with a 1-5 days shipping. Happy! :)

Once again, screenshot or it didn't happen. Unless it's a 5c.

Ordered mine from the only carrier in Estonia that sells them. Only 16GB models available, no gold 5S.

I got a space gray 16GB model, should arrive time tomorrow noon to a package machine near my house.

just to share with you my day-one here in italy.

i tried to buy one last night (00:30/1:00 am) the very moment the italian apple store came back online but gave up due to the 2-3 week delivery date.
then this morning at 9:30 went to a local apple store and i was surprised to see only about 50 people queuing and we had all the opportunity to choose our favourite size & color (all of them where available, in "champagne" too, even if people slept outside the store and started selling since 8:00 am).
I walked out at 10:30 and there was only few people still waiting in line and plenty of iphones 5s still available (this happened at apple store in Orio al Serio, Bergamo, BTW).

Belgian Experience...

Well I'm too old now for rushing about on launch days - I did wait in a queue for the iP4, but I decided not to do it again. My iP5 was bought directly from Apple and I resolved to do the same this time around.

Anyway, before calling Apple, I decided to change my arm with a couple of shops away from the Brussels City Centre. The first place Abelsys was closed at 9:00 and showed no signs of opening, so I walked 20 minutes to Sonauto in Woluwé - who has said on the forum they would have stock - and was amazed to see no-one else in the shop and stock to be had.

I did want a Space Grey for a change, but this was the one they didn't have, in 64GB anyway, so I decided another white/silver wasn't such a bad thing and I can change for a black one next year when the lead-time is improved. The staff at Sonauto were very pleasant and friendly. Shame I didn't go straight there, I may have got the black, sorry, grey...

Very impressed with it so far, the touch-id is a dream for me as I'm forced to a 5-digit passcode lock by my company's security policy. I also bought an Apple leather case for it and it's very nice. So I'm pleased.

Yeah, and scheduling the First wave launch a week before a Week Long National Chinese Holiday wasn't very smart.

My Cousin who ordered on the 20th JUST got a shipping notification yesterday. so 33 days to ship a phone.

Apple is just barely getting orders from the 20th out, but they feel the need to keep taking orders/expanding to more markets. IMO, bad business practice.

Good news is her phone is FINALLY in South Korea! Getting closer (slowly!)
