As we reported last week, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature a more repairable internal design, with a redesigned frame that allows for the back glass panel to be easily removed from the devices. This change was first made to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus last year, and now it extends to the Pro models this year.

At the time, we said that the removable back glass would likely result in significantly lower repair fees for iPhone 15 Pro models with cracked back glass for customers without AppleCare+ coverage, and this is now confirmed. As noted by Ian Zelbo, Apple has updated its U.S. website with iPhone 15 repair fees, revealing that it will charge $169 or $199 to repair the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max with back glass damage. By comparison, these fees are set at $499 or $549 for the iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The lower fees were also reported by 9to5Mac. For customers with AppleCare+ coverage for their iPhone, back glass damage can be repaired for $29.

In the U.S., Apple's battery replacement fee is set at $99 for all four iPhone 15 models, which is unchanged from the iPhone 14 series. For additional iPhone 15 repair fees, such as for the rear camera or other damage, visit Apple's website.

awesome stuff—those were eye-melting prices before & make me all the happier I got AppleCare+ for my 14PM.

for the consumer that doesn’t go for AC+, this is an overdue and welcome change, in terms of both affordability & the environment—I mentioned in another post that getting such a repair & knowing I basically have a new phone (save for the screen & camera) is not a fun thing to know re: e-waste. hopefully the remains of my previous phone are being shipped off to Daisy or something…

the potential damage of the phone due to fall/drop is the main reason for me to get AC+, it's still cheaper (I think) than this repair ... but to each their own ...
Only if you crack your back glass at least once per year I think.

It still boggles my mind that some people around here can actually believe that a more repairable phone will hurt consumers.
there are many mind boggling people on these blog sites, taking sides 'gainst themselves and sucking the punisher's d*ck , stockholm syndrom , forever stuck home, stupid voices in their eardrums, apologizing for apple's sins. pathetic , but probably easier to live with than giving so much money to a company whose demeanor you dislike, I suppose.

back to the article though, this is a nice move :)

well, it says (for my 13PM): AC+ gives you unlimited incidents of accidental damage ...

do you have other real world experience?
What I’m saying is that if you don’t have that many incidents, paying per incident is cheaper than paying AppleCare+. I only ever purchased AppleCare+ for the 1st-gen 12.9" iPad Pro (where it ended up unused), and I only had two repairs (cracked screens) over a 14 year period. So AppleCare+ doesn’t seem worth it for me in terms of amortized costs. Of course, for someone with more frequent incidents it can be worthwhile.
