They must have some reason for having this event in London. As they stream these events now, it's pointless to gather the press just to watch a stream. There must be some actual presentation of some kind in London. Surely the iPad 2 will be there.
Crunchgear posts the invite to UK reporters about their March 2nd event. Apple is hosting a simulcast of the event at the BBC Television Center.
No, I doubt it will be on any BBC channel. The BBC would be accused of showing bias towards a product (Essentially free advertising), something that it is forbidden to do under it's charterThe title implies that the actual event would be shown on BBC (you know, the television channel).
But we (we being Americans who desperately need iPlayer in our lives) already knew this announcement and are waiting with baited breath for the US iPlayer to take our money.
But as the post states, this is fairly common for the BBC.
I smiled when people mentioned Ceefax and Red Button. I'd only move to London for the television.
And I think you'll find there are plenty of good reasons to live in London apart from the TV.

I have it on good authority (from an Apple rep I know) that it will be called iPad 2, not 1.5. The internal message he received referenced it and wasn't classed as non-disclosure.
More interesting was that the iPad hasn't had production issues, but the iPhone 5. Both were due to updated at the same event in March, but the iPhone will now be in September because of the issues. This also gives OSX Lion a clear run at WWDC.
