Why would trade in values for older stuff not fall?
Why would they fall right before the holiday season is the better question.

Why would trade in values for older stuff not fall?
This creates a terrible customer experience. Apple should be thanking us for our loyalty by giving us perks going into the holiday season and encouraging us to buy new products. This comes across as a very greedy move on Apple’s part.
Apple this week lowered its trade-in values for select iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch models in the United States, resulting in customers receiving less money for their existing devices heading into the holiday shopping season.

Macs have some of the most significant trade-in value reductions, with the iMac Pro now fetching up to $600 versus up to $1,150 previously and the MacBook Pro now worth up to $630 compared with up to $850 previously. iPhone trade-in values have decreased by up to $70, although the iPhone XS and iPhone XR have each increased by up to $10.
Trade-in values have also been slashed for Android smartphones, while Apple Watch Series 3 trade-ins are no longer accepted.

Apple depreciates their phones trade in values like they are Hyundai's and Kia’s
Glad it’s not just meOr the ones who are either noshows and waste your time or you messaged 650x to reach price of $X and in person they instantly try to haggle
No, they make them to make themselves happy. Most customers are just idiots, who can't even appreciate the art and skill that went into making Apple products. But Apple employees themselves know, they made a dent in the universe. If you believe Apple makes their products to make people happy, I have some ocean front property to sell you in Utah.
Does your carrier actually give you cash, or do they give you cash equivalent credit for future service? That is what T-Mobile in the states did to my wife, she was mad about it since I pay the cell bill.Hmmmm… Contrast and compare:
Apple baits you with "Up to": £335
and Apple switches "Up to": £290
Music Magpie £345…
£50 is £50… I know where I'll go.

What is a brain? Thought they were trains…..I used my brain and decided to go with Apple, I only have one brain but congrats on having multiple.
I tried selling stuff like twice in person. Never again. So ridiculous you message like 600x about price, but they still instantly haggle you when you meetI tried selling my iPhone 12 Pro Max for two months and nothing but lowballers, people who don't have the funds, people wanting to trade for junk, and scammers that disappear when I mention meeting up at the local police station.
I haven't tried Swappa but it was smooth and easy walking into an Apple store and being assured the entire trade-in process is honored, and no chance the phone got lost or stolen during shipping. I was willing to accept less money for the hassle-free convenience. The time savings alone was worth it to me.
Yes the cars are at least up on both side. My wife totalled her car, and we go way more than we were thinkingI’ve been offered more for my ‘21 Palisade (with 36k miles) than I paid for it.
But hey, the auto trade-in market can be hard to understand — you know, like how to use apostrophes.
Do other store chains like Bestbuy (USA/Canada) give you better trade in value then Apple or do they just match Apple?Apple Trade in is very convenient. But better sell elsewhere to get a higher price.
lol. Yeah, that's it. Definitely not those $100k+ jobs. No, they make them to make themselves happy. Most customers are just idiots, who can't even appreciate the art and skill that went into making Apple products. But Apple employees themselves know, they made a dent in the universe.
“We’re here to put a dent in the universe. Otherwise why else even be here?”
― Steve Jobs
That man changed the history of technology. Too bad mankind is going to die because of neonicotinoids anyway. But at last we got a good taste of what could've been.
