Macworld 2010

Since this is before Macworld 2010 (February 9 - February 10) developers may still be able to tailor their wares to compliment the tablet.

An Apple tablet pun for you all... Better Slate than never.

If that's the tagline for the Jan 26th event I should win a prize.

Apple power play for 2010.

I suspect a number of debuts at this event. Let's see:
  1. New Mac Book Pros
  2. An updated Mac Book.
  3. New iPhones to stand along side the current. There would a high probability of higher screen resolutions. Thus the demand for tweaked apps.
  4. A bigger iPod Touch which is not THE tablet. This would be a much higher resolution device.
  5. A current form factor Touch with a higher resolution display.
  6. The tablet which everybody is hoping for. This is separate from the Touch based iPods in that it offers up additional hardware capability.
  7. Mini overhaul! Arrandale sure would be nice - we will see.
  8. IPhone OS update to 4.0 announcement.
  9. Apple TV on ARM with adapted IPhone OS. Strong support for games.

As you can see a huge number of potential products. Many would be dependant upon apps for IPhone being properly written for higher resolution. Games on an Apple TV compatible with IPhone OS would really rock. All you would need is software on your Touch or IPhone to turn it into a virtual touch screen for the TVs screen. Plus ARM on Apple TV could drive a much more demanding GPU so we would have a huge step up in performance.

On the Laptop side of the fence Intel will have debuted it's new processors and the product line is ready for a bump anyways. So a laptop overhaul at this event also makes lots of sense.

While I'd love to see the tablet everybody has been dreaming about here, i think it is wrong to get to excited right now. Mainly because this could simply mean that Apple is revamping the iPod Touch / IPhone line up. New screens at the high end at the very least as Apple needs to compete aganst many new competitors with far better screens. The current 3GS could get bumped down to an entry level device.

In any case it seems like it's going to be some sort of tablet thingy: It's too soon for a new iPhone, the iMac's have just been updated and a dedicated media release for Pro's don’t really make marketing sense.

It will be a bummer for all the people that are getting ipod touches for xmas (like me) if apple updates them again.:(

Apple will release something blandly cool, I think.
It will change our lives. More communication via a screaming screen. That will further this forum and lessen intelligent search.
Ahhh, off the line.

Hoping for new Mac Pro and a tablet, although my wallet will argue otherwise :)

Can someone tell me who the ... has voted negative here? Please these 6 people that have voted negative present yourself and your arguments here....this is mindboggling.
