No tablet support, ether.

Well at least it's there in an iPhone size, but also no watch app

What about supporting local football leagues in the newly added countries? Or other sports, like skiing or local hockey instead of NHL only.

I downloaded the app after having read this article, but it doesn’t support iPads, either and, as said no local sports, just the usual big leagues in football, hockey…

Well, maybe they’ll add some more in the future. Until then, it’s not of much use to me.

H.
I too wish the iPad support was there however it does support widgets on the iPad. I have created a stack that allows me to focus on the teams/sports/leagues that I am interested in.

Second worst Apple app. Music on macOS being the first.
Oh it is that bad is it? I’m not missing out on much then. lol.

I agree that the Music App on MacOS is total trash.
On a side note, how on earth does Apple Music macOS still not support Continuity/Hand Off with Apple Music?! I can do it from my iPhone to an AirPod, but not from my iPhone/Apple Watch to MacOS… Why?!

It can't even send you goal alerts.

I thought it had live activities for goal alerts?
But if the phone is in your pocket it doesn't give you a notification or anything. I've downloaded it twice in the years its been around and it still doesn't so I removed it for the 3rd time and wont be downloading it again.

Let me officially speak on behalf of Apple Australia.
The Apple Sports app, is NOT available to Australian users.

This means that no Apple Account with its region set as Australia can download the application.

Let me officially debunk your reply. The Apple Sports app is 100% available to Australian and users around the world. I’ve said this now for the 4th time 🤦‍♂️

Who said anything about the account set to the Australian region?

Who said? Me. I said by saying that “Australia won’t see this anytime soon”.

I’m sorry you took it literally as a “technical limitation”, instead of through the lens of being legal.

Do you understand EULA? Do you understand it’s breaking EULA and depending on the country, even copyright laws to be using a foreign countries licensing account in a different country than it’s intended for.
Do you know they even credit card restrict the payment options so that it matches the region the account is licensed for.

No one is suggesting that you can’t download the app through an unsupported, unofficial means.

Let me re-word it for you.
It’s an invalid set up to be using a non-Australian Apple ID to download the Apple Sport app in Australia unless you’re just a visitor. You are very much expected to migrate your Apple ID to the correct region if you become a permanent resident or a citizen of Australia. You know, what the 99.99% of Australian based Apple ID holders have configured on their devices, Australian accounts, shocker i know!

Sure, I doubt someone’s gonna kick down your front door if you don’t. But it’s an unsupported unofficial method.

There’s no magical shield around the land of Australia that makes your app disappear if it was downloaded from a non-Australian account.

But guess what? People in Australia want to use an Australian Apple ID. Why?
1. To not break EULA.
2. To be able to link an Australian bank card.
3. To gain access to the Australian App Store apps and not a foreign countries versions.
4. Legally purchased movies and music - this one’s important as it’s actually breaking copyright law if you breach that.

The critical point for you to learn is:
When I or others speak of a specific country not having a feature/app/product/hardware etc. It doesn’t mean that you can’t somehow acquire it through alternative means. Just that it’s not convenient or practical to circumvent the system and you’re almost certainly breaking EULA or even law in doing so.

So for any other readers wondering, I’ve posted a screenshot showing that it’s not permitted in Australia, but blackjackj can disagree the proof all they like, unfortunately disagreeing with it won’t make Apple publish it to its Australian users.

EDIT:
Just to be really clear, you are physically blocked from downloading it if you’re signed in with an Australian Apple ID.

Then don't sign in with an Australian account 🙄,..Apple do not check your birth rights 🤦‍♂️

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud reading that. Thanks for the morning chuckle.

Given your response suggests you haven’t grasped the points I raised, I’ll end our conversation.

Good luck ✌🏻
