There is one weird behavior of Apple SSD in my new MBP that I want to discuss with you guys. I have this machine for 3 weeks now. Love it!! Anyway, I always checked the disk usage by iStat pro since I didn't want to fill up the disk too quickly. I noticed that the used space went up although I didn't save anything on the disk. It was not so dramatic...something like 40.38GB ---> 40.41GB in one day. Then, a few days later, the number came down to its original point (40.41GB ---> 40.38GB). It happened like this quite a few times since I had my mbp. I wasn't concerned about it so much because I thought that it was a normal behavior or it might have been a swap from system memory.....until this time. Last night before I shut down my mbp I noticed that the used space was 40.71GB. This morning I checked out the number again right after I turned it on, the number stayed the same (40.71GB). I didn't use my MBP much today, it just sit on sleep while I was away. Very surprisingly, in the afternoon before I went home, I saw the used space came down to 40.38GB. I didn't save anything on my disk at all. I just surfed internet and checked emails a couple times.

Regarding to what I just described, I was wondering if anybody has noticed the same thing? Could that be the "garbage collection- or TRIM-like" function of Apple-installed SSD that no one was aware of?
