Wake up and smell the coffee - that's been the case since the dawn of capitalism.Worldwide SSD supplier screws up and it's the customers that pay the price for that screw up. Sounds about right in todays world.

They 100% do not want to make M1 Macs repairable.if they wanna make the M1 Macs repairable just STOP soldering the SSD's in place. No Solder. That simple.
Then when these suckers wear out and they will wear out the whole computer ain't JUNK.
WD and Kioxia's customers won't "pay the price" they will still pay what is stated in the order contract and may have to wait a bit longer to get the SSDs.Worldwide SSD supplier screws up and it's the customers that pay the price for that screw up.
They lost me at 6.5 exabytes... how much is that?
The biggest storage space I know is terabytes.

I agree with boss.king: there's less profit in repairable/replaceable components. Why would Apple let customers buy cheaper SSDs from 3rd party suppliers when Apple can force the customers to use their own SSDs at a substantial markup? They 100% do not want to make M1 Macs repairable.
6,500,000 terabytes or

Then I'm staying Intel. Lets say the SSD dies in 3 years. Sodered in it's instant JUNK then. They 100% do not want to make M1 Macs repairable.
That's cool, I wasn't trying to convince you to switch. If the tradeoffs of hackintoshing work for you, then by all means stick with it.Then I'm staying Intel. Lets say the SSD dies in 3 years. Sodered in it's instant JUNK then.
You can build an ALDER LAKE i9 16 core Hackintosh and fix 100 percent.

There’s not much point. Hint: The SSD is not the least reliable thing on the board.if they wanna make the M1 Macs repairable just STOP soldering the SSD's in place. No Solder. That simple.

then we can expect a likely polishing cloth price hike too.Not to worry. An Apple polishing cloth will do its magic and clean the contaminated SSD modules![]()
against the planned annual output, is this a lot or just a drop in the bucket? They lost me at 6.5 exabytes... how much is that?

It's a commodity market in shortage. While the prices may spike, they will also go down, so anything passed onto the consumer long term and kept at that cost is mere profiteering.
