Airpods 2. Airpods 2. Airpods 2.

Nothing else interests me from the list of possibilities.

iPad pro or mac for that matter that runs both ios and mac os would peak my interests. But probably never happen or at least not anytime soon.

So 10:00AM EST is 7:00AM PST (aren't I smart?). Ya gotta be a real diehard Apple fanto wanna watch this thing that early in the morning in CA.

I generally have to get up at 3AM to watch the keynotes so a midnight keynote will be midnight for me - not happening.

Come to think of it, this event seems unusually larger than usually, especially with the marketing they have put in with the more than 350 logos. That’s a large amount press. I suspect we might see at least a sneak preview of the Mac Pro to keep the momentum going until WWDC 2019.

Indeed. The large amount of press, iconic venue which they purposely aren't doing it on their spaceship campus (when's the last time Apple even did an event in New York (they brought the event to the media this time)), the effort they are putting into decorating said venue. That's too much effort for an iPad update. This is seeming like a bigger deal than the iPhone event.

The Gilman theatre is a beautiful venue. BAM is a really interesting choice for Apple being in Brooklyn and not Hipster Brooklyn (though it is gentrifying Brooklyn now). Anyway, I've done events there and it's in walking distance form my house. I think I might have to swing by!

EDIT: DUH! it's across the street from he BK store. <facepalm gif> Still an interesting choice to move this announcement East.

I've been thinking the same thing - with it being held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music there must be some music related announcement they are making, not sure what though. Could be just airpods? Just an overall creativity focused theme with music wrapped into it??

New iTunes! and iTunes Store!!!!!

Logic Pro X 11.0 update with a new sampler and dedicated Logic sample pad controller. Please?!?
Apple needs to step up their music production game.

I'm sure it's no coincidence that Apple commissioned numerous artistic takes on its logo for this event and is holding the event at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. A focus on the arts is definitely in the air.

Tim also seems increasingly willing to take his show on the road when warranted. Recall that last year's education-oriented iPad event was held at Chicago's highly-regarded Lane Tech High School.

Really wonder why they are doing it on the east cost instead of "at home" on the Apple Campus. Nice to see it coming though.

the 'making' in the invite suggests to me that they are going to be talking about creation tools. and perhaps something in terms of education like perhaps something with their 'today at apple' stuff. an arts focused school fits with that. as does a new iPad pro, pencil (hopefully a keyboard updated to not fail every 3 months) perhaps updates to iMovie and garage band on iOS and those plus the pro apps on Mac OS

i doubt they would make a pad controller but perhaps an iPad app that could work as one.

sorry to say, but using imac or even a newer mac mini and photoshop or affinity photos or final cut pro it is far easier to create things
Oh yes, I completely agree with you.
But Apple doesn’t :)

Bought an iPad Pro when it was released and was hoping for it to be more of a MacBook replacement that it actually was.

It’s time they step up. Reason, Fruity Loops and Ableton all have their own. Not to mention selling virtual instruments specifically for it. Its such a pain to configure a controller to work with Logic. Constantly looking for a work around. The iPad doesn’t have velocity sensitivity, so that doesn’t work. I feel like Apple could really fill a huge void by making there own midi controllers. They already rule the music sales world, why not gives us better tools to create that music instead of depending on other companies? Well, I’ll be dreaming for that day to come! Hopefully soon

it was for you, but for those that use photoshop, final cut pro and so on, the ipad pro is 0 for them...maybe, just maybe, the ipad will be a go go when full photoshop will come to ipad...and who knows, maybe final cut pro

Nice.

Now let’s see some 2018 desktop Mac leaks, please.

Yeah, this is what I'd like to know. Are we expecting a 'refresh', a minor speed/spec bump? Or are we getting a glimpse of a redesign? At this stage I'm expecting something significant. I can't remember any time in many years when I felt less enthusiastic about the desktop Macs. I have a 4 year old MBP and it's going great, but I want some good desktop options.

Cool video, shame they had to use that horrible music. thankfully i can mute the audio.

What's wrong with the music?

It's just relatively standard prog/fusion. Good guitar playing, if nothing else.

I actually really like it. Especially those electric guitar riffs. Piano + guitar is one of my favorite fusions.

Shazam didn't turn up any results. :(

Cook is traveling...not sure if he’s back yet, but he might flight through NYC from Europe.

I hope you are being sarcastic. They aren't doing their third biggest event of the year, which they started planning six or likely more months ago, to coincide with a stop over on the CEO's flight schedule.

For some reason, this seems like a bit too much for a simple iPad event. The theatrical layout / building, it's not a typical small stage presentation. Then the fact that it's in New York. I think there might be more in store.

Definitely more than an iPad event. New York is the media capital of the U.S. So there will be potentially even more coverage of this event than if it was in Apple's headquarters.

I think folks are reading too much into the name of the venue being an opera house. I suspect they started with "We want to do something in NYC", then started looking for sites. Realized Brooklyn was "cool" and then figured out that BAM was cool and had a set up that was big enough and nice enough looking to fit their needs.

well, they will probably release a new Mac Mini and that should render the old Mac Pro completely obsolete. Therefore I think they will at least show the new Mac Pro if they release the Mini.

He's in Europe...I don't know his schedule, but he actually might spend the night in NYC versus flying to California and flying back for the event. It all depends on how long he's in Europe. So yeah, they might have a reason for having him stay in NYC. He knows so many people, there might be additional meetings he needs to have in NYC.

I'm not pretending to know. I'm speculating. Cook flies private, so he can do whatever he wants and likely wouldn't "stop over" in NYC anyway. I'm saying they would just land there since he has to be there anyway.
