Apple Starts Early Production on Next-Generation iPhones With Force Touch

A tiny bit thicker, a tiny bit taller, likely no protruding camera, possibly changed the colour of the antenna bands, different shades of current colours, and a new colour.

While the tiny bit thicker part is going to happen due to strong rumors, the likely no protruding camera hump is an opinion of 9to5mac and hasn't been mentioned by anyone yet, that's hardly confirmed. The colored antenna bands are also just a patent rumor, imo not even likely for this year - and I don't consider change of color to be changes to to be a new chassis design.

While you're at it can you add an extra 0.2 mm on top of that other 0.2 mm? I mean that should be good for a bit more battery life shouldn't it?

Unfortunately that room is rumored for the force touch screen component to take place in. While they will likely put a small amount more in the 6s, it is going to be a very small difference. If they're going to do something with battery, it's going to be a radical sweep, not something like this.

This piqued my interest. Could it be a direct response to "Bendgate"? Ironically Bendgate™ would never have happened if they'd stuck with a stainless steel and glass design.

I'll probably get the 6S as I'm on a 5S. The S versions by far the better cycle to be on.

As for the iPhone 7 I can't see Apple changing the size again like they have in most of of the other "tick" versions. They've got all the bases covered now from very big to big to big enough. Apple will have to start branching out in other design ways instead of just increasing the size.

I for one hope we see a return to a more premium, long-lasting design as the iPhone 4/4S. No cheap paint that scratches off.

The non-S cycle has always seemed to be better fitting to my liking, but I'm stuck on the S cycle atm. After seeing the changes they're going to make to the 6S (not many) I'm considering holding off till the 7. I personally don't like this year (or last year's) design, and I think the 7 will look very nice, because I believe they can make a better non-slip design for the 4.7 inch size.

The camera in the 6S is going to be really great, but the rest of it is going to be meh. I believe the iPhone 7 will be the one that gets rid of the home button, which will lead to extremely small bezels compared to the huge one's on the 6 and 6S. The smaller bezels, and new design will be enough to have me want the iPhone 7, so if I can I'll wait.

*Also, keep in mind that smaller bezels either means bigger screen with the same dimensions (I don't think they'd do that, but maybe), or it means they can shrink the size a little bit while keeping the screen size the same.*

Yes. Apple is not going to admit Bend Gate, but come on? If you sit with you're 6+ in your back pocket you deserve what you get, IMO. The 7 is going to very nice. The A10 is one hell of a Silicon Slab. The 6s chassis' will have less "flex." Wait for the tear downs. :apple:

I agree that carelessness of electronic equipment is very much so a personal problem, but I think that it is very unnerving knowing that if you apply a decent amount of pressure to your phone in something that used to be considered a pocketable item (phone --> 3" smart phones --> 4" smart phones --> 4.7" smartphones --> 5.5" smartphone) has become somewhat less pocketable - you can't really blame people when in the past that same class of device was pocketable. There is definitely a difference between 4" and 5.2"+ phones, because they almost always get longer, but not really too much wider; so they bend more easily.
