I don't know in the USA but in my country selling a product that does not meet the specifications, for example that it cannot receive warranty fixes and sw updates to try to fix the bugs that come out, is equivalent to a scam.
In fact, old products are sold as ‘collectables’ by official Apple resellers, and are not found in Apple stores instead. And Apple is definitely unhappy to receive them for assistance or to sign AppleCare contracts, going so far as to claim the fake several times (again, it's a crime especially if in support of a scam).
And with AppleCare contracts anyone can realise that these are scams, just see how many days are changed (3 days).
Apple has been deciding for years to wage war on its customers thinking it could profit on random customers.
Sooner or later he will wake up from this dream and impact reality. What holds the brand so far is speculation about its stock, if it takes the wrong path Apple will have a bad awakening. Ask Musk.

There's a precedent for Apple still releasing fixes for severe exploits like this.

For example, just two weeks before iOS 16 came out, Apple released iOS 12.5.6 to improve the security of devices that couldn't run iOS 13 or higher.
Indeed Microsoft did the same thing with XP, but they don’t sell XP and they strongly recommend you don’t use it, because that’s smart.

Who needs an Apple Watch anyway. This one does it all.

Yeah, you gotta be pretty dumb to buy one of these right now. Even a cheap used one on Facebook marketplace isn't worth it.

Thinking of getting one for your kid? Think again, you can't do the family watch setup with anything earlier than a Series 4.

Honestly, shame on Apple for even offering the Series 3 for sale.

I think Series 3 Apple watches in general were fine, but what happened is that Apple went with one too many major releases for it. My daughter was still using Series 2 until last month and the watch for the most part was working just fine (it died on it own) on watchOS 6.3 albeit slow. If Apple stopped with watchOS7.x for S3, it would have been still a very good watch, but unfortunately, watchOS8.x put the nail on the coffin and that is why people generally hate this watch. I hope Apple learns something from this.

if you want a series 3 stainless steel, head over to eBay and pick one up for $100. Use the extra $269 to buy yourself something special for Christmas…

Some nerve in apple’s part selling Series 3 for those prices, at all really. A watch that is no longer compatible for any new OS updates, slow, mediocre battery life, and takes on cracks like a Champlain Tower.

Very unimpressed with Apple over the handling of the Series 3. They sold it months after announcing WatchOS 9 wouldn't run on it and haven't put out any security updates for it.

Again, Apple likes to make a song and dance about environmental sustainability, but this flys in the face of it.

Tbh the AW4 I have still is humming beautifully. No lag. Good battery (2 days). LTE version. If it doesn’t get updates next year I’d be surprised but would have to live with it. Apples products, at least the watch, has lasted real well, and being all green these days Apple should support it for a little longer time frame, until it no longer can handle the OS. I upgrade my iPhone quite often but wouldn’t do the same for a watch.
