Do we know what % of iphones use parts from that supplier? Couldn't they have switched suppliers?

Very sad to see another mass sell based on half information from another company. Didn't this happen right before last quarter results call?
the thing that doesn't make sense is that Cirrus Logic said that there decline was due to a large customer reducing orders for an old part and switching to a new part. All of the news outlets picked up on the first part of the statement

Now I don't know if the news outlets/analysts have information that shows that there was a decline in the total number of parts orders (eg 1 million old parts vs 500,000 new parts). Perhaps, perhaps not. Well see next Tuesday as apple sets to deliver there numbers for q2 and estimates for q3.

It should be falling. Apple hasn't released anything new in a while. The iMac is still pretty new, but as we all know their sales of actual computers are almost nothing compared to iDevices.

Used to be March was the "usual" iPad refresh, and that's been interrupted, so we haven't really seen Apple fo anything for a couple months. Not sure why this news surprises any one.

Between now and October we will probably see one or two new iPhones, one or two new iPads, and maybe a third product line updated or introduced.

Sorry what I meant to say is DA SKI IZ FALIN

Unfortunately nobody can replace the markets faith in Steve Jobs.

Jonathan Ivy. He's got the passion, creativity and vision to bring Apple back to the top of its game. He's not Steve but he's just as unique. Cook is too much of a numbers guy and lacks the showmanship and charisma that Apple is known and loved for.

The entire market is down today so the people on their high horses here who are happy to see Apple's price drop because you hate the company, get over yourselves.

Damn greedy investors!

I hope Apple is focused for long term growth rather than short term to satisfy their (Investors) greed.

Why can't Apple just do a 4",4.5", and 5" screen? Give people options.

Fear... Plain & simple. Apple has a fragile ego.

If suddenly they should become more open minded to customer preferences & the result is anything less than skyrocketing sales far beyond current levels, they'd have an internal revolt.

Apple is set in its ways which is not bad. It's just limiting. They've been stifled by the publics willingness to buy the brand. That's why the stock is soft.

Until they experience serious declines in sales they will avoid innovation beyond the little things they've done, & hyped till they seem like big things.

Where are all the supporters with their execuses? Apple is on a downward spiral, and with innovation like the GS4, Note 2, and HTC One, it looks like Apple is being muscled out of their own game.

It's been nice knowing you Apple!

Apple really needs to release something new. This is the first time in I don't know how long that January to April didn't have at least one new product or update in it.

Since this article was posted Apple stock is at 404.46 and climbing

Good time to buy?

Buy when others are fearful.

...but if you really want to make a return that is much more safe, i suggest purchasing shares in dividend paying, U.S. multinational corporations like Exxon(XOM), Proctor & Gamble(PG), Johnson & Johnson(JNJ), Coca-Cola(KO). In the long run you will be very happy.

Those are good points. As I have postulated on several threads, nature & the market abhor a vacuum - Tim Cook is overseeing a massive loss of shareholder value.

If you want to kill Ive and what he is to Apple, make him CEO. I highly doubt he would even accept the role. He is currently where he wants to be, imo.

In Ivy we trust :)

Shows how susceptible the markets are to perception and reputation.
Samsung, HTC and Sony have climbing stocks, following good product launches, and healthy balance sheets.
Apple might have the biggest bank balance of them all, but investors needs to see growth, product and strength. Not just quarterly sales.

Perhaps it's time for apple to start communicating more.. Rather than these long periods of silence between keynotes. Their idea that keeping quiet and secretive will avoid rivals stealing their ideas has been proven somewhat pointless by the failing lawsuits and patent battles.

So maybe it's finally time for a "ideas that apple is working on" keynote?
I don't see them ever revealing future product lines, but keeping quiet and not allowing executives to speak (outside of silly comments from Schiller) doesn't seem to be working. It seems like every other week someone's hosting a conference with executives from major tech companies speaking there, but its zero, zip, nada from Apple. The silence from Apple allows others to drive the narrative.

man
Have some faith. iOS 7 is delayed because of a redesign... that's why it will hit hardstuff stuff rom iPad, to iPad mini, to iPHone AND iPod touch....
Everything is pushed back. (Including OSX 10.9)
