The 12.4.1 update push was so aggressive comparing to 12.4.
The damn thing downloaded on its own using MY data at home without my permission.
So annoying that I had to install the tvOS profile again, delete the damn update, reboot the iMac to disable SIP in order to backup the phone, reset all settings, and restore the phone to get rid of the damn update badge! (And then had to reboot the iMac one more time to re-enable SIP.

I agree with the fact we should be able to downgrade on older version that our device support. Not necessarily every .x updates but at least the last update of each major iOS versions. We can do this on our computers so why not on our phones? The best exemple is iOS 12. For me, there's some serious bugs and I just don't want it on my device right now. Its not normal I'll have to install a tvOS beta profile to prevent showing/downloading future iOS updates.
You can downgrade by restoring your phone with an iOS 12 ipsw. What computer allows you to roll back to a previous version with a delta upgrade mechanic? Everything requires a fresh install and file recovery.

You don’t own the software though. If you don’t like it don’t agree to it.
Maybe, just maybe a thought.
Did the sales people at Apple disclose that when the phone was purchased?
Of course, there is the 14 day return window. But the hassle to return the phone and get back to the old phone is unrealistic.

yeah, so annoying they pushed a patch to stop the ability for someone to root access your phone and comprise all your data.

It’s in the terms and conditions you should of read during setup or online pre purchase. Apple has never licensed access to iOS so why should they start informing you now? Ignorance isn’t a valid defence.

I’m talking about iOS 12.4.1. Like every year they release a very tiny update before the Keynote with “performance and security enhancements”. We all know what it is for.
We usually do. Like in this case it was to patch security issues.

That is my call on how I use my device.
Not ignorance unless you have the ability to see the future. It is more like any first time iPhone buyer heading into the store to buy the phone were not informed about the agreements BEFORE the purchase which you have cleverly avoided to mention.

The lawsuit from hacked data would be far worse than the complaints of people who don’t understand security patches. Name one retail sale where an advisor has walked you line for line through all the legal paper work, I bet you can’t.

Did you ask? If you accept all the terms without reading them who is really to blame?

I was simply stating that the sales rep would never disclose the terms and conditions on the iOS itself. Not the hardware.
Have you gone to the brick and mortar Apple store to buy an iPhone lately?

You don’t have to setup the phone on the spot at the brick and mortar Apple store. You can walk in, buy the phone and then walk out of the store. The terms and conditions would not be disclosed until you open the phone and turn it on. What is so hard for you guys to understand?

It should be illegal to not allow downgrading. Having your device always hassle you to upgrade is annoying enough, but having old devices become unusably slow after upgrading and having no way to return them to their factory installed OS is ********.
TvOS beta profile
[doublepost=1568302144][/doublepost]Such as?
There are multiple third party programs that let you flash an iPhone with unsigned ipsw’s. Many people used it to work around the initial iOS 13 release bugs. Just because you don’t know of a way doesn’t mean it’s non existent.

Apple please give us gestures like this
1-blur notifications on locks screen.
2-double rap any where on home screen to lock.
3-swipes down on left or right/center for control center,
Cover sheet, spotlight etc .
4. Hide the notch on lock screens, home screen, on apps etc.
5. Hide the labels
6. Better reachability, scales the interface down to 75%.

Again, it’s available online as well. The responsibility is on you to know what you’re buying, stop deflecting blame.
Willful ignorance is not an excuse https://www.apple.com/ca/legal/sla/

first page of the iOS 12 agreement:
“By using the Apple Software, you agree that Apple may download and install automatic iOS Software Updates onto your iOS Device and your peripheral devices.”

you agreed to it. Don’t like it? Buy an Android.

Yeah let's make something illegal based on uninformed conjecture that has been proven to be false time and time again.

There is nothing forcing you to upgrade to iOS 13. If you are worried about bugs don't update to iOS 13.

Apple doesn't read these forums in search of feedback. Submit your feedback to Apple via the feedback reporter app.

Not exactly sure how that relates to the article/discussion.

You are shown the agreement when you first use the iPhone you purchase. If you don't agree you can hit the Cancel button and return it.

If that was the case there would be plenty of discussions about this kind of thing in the Jailbreak section alone, and many other places. That just doesn't seem to be the case.

Yeah instead of allowing returns let's instead allow the installation of operating systems with security issues.

I'm not sure I see where they are saying they will allow you to install and run any iOS version you want, whether or not it's signed by Apple. Apple's signing would be pretty meaningless if there were apps like this to supposedly easily just ignore it somehow.

You're making it sound like you can do this without the SHSH2 blob from your device with the older version installed. I could be mistaken, as I've been out of the

I don't think either of these work like you think.

imyfone looks like a scam: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.imyfone.com

3u doesn't say that it will install unsigned firmware without an SHSH2

An SHSH2 blob is required for what you think is so easy. It is not something that anyone can do at any time.

you manually choose what ipsw you want. Apple's signing only applies to iTunes and the new finder based iPhone recovery.

scams don't tend to last long in the app store, and if it is one, there's still plenty of others. I pulled the first one. As for the second part, it wasn't a question as to how easy it is, they stated it's impossible.
[doublepost=1568310876][/doublepost]
Oh lord. So you’ve used this to downgrade to an unsigned version of iOS? Without blobs?
