ROTFL.

This is the problem with posting late at night. :)

Did you un-check that little box about not recieving promotions and news?....

If you told them not to send any promotions, guess what, they didn't!!! :D

Wait a minute! My account says that I've elected to recieve mail and e-mail from Apple! Agh! I want my coupon!

Not that I plan on buying anything or anything.......

Hi,

I also got the offer, dated Oct 8. It's a 25eur out of 249eur (i am in europe).

I've bought 3 Powerbooks (2 12" and the new 15"), 15GB iPOD, 20GB iPOD, 2nd batterie, mouse and some other accesssories, within a year.

I tried to use the code in Apple education store, where i always do my shopping, but the link brought me to 'normal' Apple store germany. And when i tried to enter the code manually when buying panther and 2nd battery, it was not recognized and rejected. Looks like we cant combine this discount with educational discount.

When I was Five,

So I think I'll be six now for ever and ever.

I just checked my account, all the below Contact Preferences were checked.

Contact Preferences:
The list below shows whether or not you have elected to receive Apple news, software updates, special offers, and information about related products. If you would rather not be contacted through any of the following methods, please uncheck the appropriate box below.
Email from Apple
Mail from Apple
Telephone call from Apple
Fax from Apple
Email from other technology companies
Mail from other technology companies

So I guess there must be another reason for not getting a coupon yet.

1400$ moniter, 1200$ digital camera, Painter (400$).

And I got a 25$ gift certificate?

weeee :\

PS.

If I had got a 100$ one, I probably would have snagged a new Ibook.

"Discounts"

These "Discounts" from apple are not enough. Please note that I have never owned a mac. On the 24th I was all excited about the 10% off thing so I though wow I can finally afford one. So I show up to the apple store and I find out that it can't be combined with my Educational discount and moreover they don't have what I want in stock (A dual G4 1.25 GHz). So I call 1-800-MYAPPLE and when the guy added it up with taxes, discount, and 20" display, the total was about $3350. That's just not competitive and it won't attract "switchers" like me. Remember, with PCs I still have more choices of operating system and software (Linux for example or even Darwin if I want) and competition drives the price down whereas apple has 50% profit margins on its niche products. Apple computer can be profitable but they won't gain more than a 5% market share with this business model. Just my 2c. Please flame away if you feel like it.

The problem is the 20" display. Apple's Cinema Displays are not low-price items.

I just spent $5K on a new 17" PowerBook - and THEN Apple decides to send me a coupon! Arrghhh!!!

But I've only gotten the $25 off one, not the $100...I don't suppose Apple will give me a credit, eh?:)

What do you mean 'a' (single) coupon?
1100 ordered through the shop should get them a few more G5s for the cluster!!

(and if they don't want to use the coupons, I'd be happy to oblige...

My "$25 off on $249" offer arrived today. Have we figured out what determines whether you get the offer, which offer you get, and when you get it?

Edit: My offer expires November 21, 2003. Do other people have the same date, or do those vary too?

I got the exact same deal you got.

i just got the $25 off a $249 purchase that expires on Nov. 21 too. Though it's for the apple educational store, so I assume I can use it to buy stuff with an educational discount.....I'm a new switcher and have just made one purchase of the 15" 1.25GHz Al-book, 10GB iPod, and a printer at the end of last month.....BTW, apple sent me the $300 rebate just TWO weeks after I had sent in my coupon and codes.....two thumbs up to them!! :)

Mine has terms and conditions that exclude the Apple Store for Education. My terms and conditions can be found here. WK2003, please post the URL of the "terms and conditions" link you got so we can compare.

My terms and conditions exclude everything *except* the Apple Store for Education.

I guess that's because I've only bought from the Apple Store for Education?

The terms and conditions are identical, except for items 3 and 4.

My (regular) version:
3. Except as otherwise provided below, electronic discounts can be redeemed online at the U.S. Apple Store or over the phone at 1-800-MY-APPLE.

4. Electronic discounts are NOT valid at the Apple Store for Business, Apple Store for Education Individuals, Apple Store for Education Institutions, Apple Store for Resellers, Apple Store for Canada Resellers, Apple Store for international locations, any online custom store sponsored by Apple, or Apple Store retail locations.
Your (education) version:
3. Except as otherwise provided below, electronic discounts can be redeemed online at the U.S. Apple Store for Education Individuals, online U.S. custom stores for Education Individuals, or over the phone at 1-800-MY-APPLE.

4. Electronic discounts are NOT valid at the Apple Store, Apple Store for Business, Apple Store for Education Institutions, Apple Store for Resellers, Apple Store for Canada Resellers, Apple Store for international locations, any online custom store sponsored by Apple (except for Education Individuals), or Apple Store retail locations.
Since the URLs differed by only one letter, I tried all other letters (a-z) and found no other versions of the terms. Did anybody get a different version?

Maybe the "education" distinction is based on your most recent purchase, since I've made some purchases each way.

These are the conditions of my offer:

1. This electronic coupon entitles you to $25 off your next order of $249 or more.

2. This offer is valid through November 21, 2003.

Hmm...i see that some people have a different version not valid at purchases with educational discount....is my coupon transferrable?
