Look at some of the people you put in Guantanamo Bay without any trial. Over 20 years for some.

Lack of health care, homelessness, drugs, gun violence. Those are abuses of its own people too.

There is no morale high ground to be coming from here. People crapping on about lack of LGBTQ rights forget there are plenty of places in the US where this occurs as well.

Clean up your own back yard hypocrites.

I can’t even believe we have people stanning for Saudi Arabia and their horrendous human rights violations

Have we really fallen this far?
Yeah. I guess the question you need to ask is are people hypocrites? What I am seeing is yes. Look in your own backyard before you criticise others unless you think your country is perfect in these areas…

No, of course not. But in this case for sure. It's pathetic the way they treat women. Their violations of human rights is egregious. Their corrupt government is without excuse. The US only sides with them because Iran is worse.
The US also treat women badly. They treat people badly because of the colour of their skin ffs. They side with them for oil/money. The US desire for human rights is as bad as any country and often worse.

I refuse to travel to Saudi because if the way they treat their women. I refuse to travel to the US because the way they treat people generally.

How is "chopping up a reporter" somehow worse than killing babies and children by the masses? Do Americans/Westerners have some sort of mental block in their head?
Let’s see, casualties in an active war zone where terrorists reside (that isn’t even our battle) vs inviting a reporter into a restaurant and chopping him to bits then censoring movies that talk about it lol

Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. Yes, the US is bad, but Saudi Arabia is exponentially worse. Last time I looked, women were allowed to drive here. And run for president.

I am not defending what goes on in Saudi, but let's not spread misinformation. The driving ban for women was lifted in 2018.

I don’t know what I’m talking about? I’m just shaking my head at your comments.

To address both of your points

1. Women have been able to drive since 2018….
2. Saudi Arabia is a Monarchy and doesn’t have a president.

10 out of the G20 countries have had women leaders. USA are missing from that list and are directly alongside Saudi

As Expos has said. I’m not a fan of Saudi and would never go there for that reason, but don’t hold your standards above them because the U.S. fail in more moral areas than Saudi do. Who the hell has national groups led by Grand Wizards?

When's the last time the US chopped up a reporter for writing against them or gay person just for being?

have you heard of the American Iraq war that lasted about 9 years where an estimated 1 million iraqies died because they thought Saddam Hussain had weapons of mass destruction but they found none?

I can’t even believe I’m about to (somewhat) defend the USA in a public forum, but here we go.

No, they’re not perfect, they have thousands of things to fix, but compared to the Saudi? Come on, it’s not even a contest.

Like all wars, it was for money, and a disgrace. My country was a part of that as well, I’m ashamed to admit.

Today's world has 0 values. All these values are just a show. The one and only value in this world is money. Don't believe what you hear otherwise.

You're talking about 1 or 2 main things cherry picked as a moral divide based on ideology. Versus the thousands (as you said) for the U.S. I agree those things are pretty big (for me, morally), but let’s not pretend the U.S. are actually better. This is about a difference, morally, which by definition is subjective.

Please tell me what is creating such a bad vibe over Saudi. I'll start. The way women are treated is number 1 for me and a no brainer why I won’t go there. What else?

Wow a war vs killing a domestic reporter. Classic comparison

No mention of alcohol.
Alcohol is a weapon of mass destruction that targets genes(future generations) and therefore is much more dangerous than guns.

Granted it is very tricky to ban as banning it can have the opposite effect(Gorbachev promoted the use of alcohol in the 80s by banning it as a way of subversion of the Soviet Union).

I noticed that even in the West they separate a liquor stores from the food stores in order to avoid sending a dangerous message: "alcohol is just like milk".

So this picture manifests more conceptual power than those ancient Egyptian priests and their pyramids could ever hope to manifest.
