praying it's not a disappointment.

might grab a neo if it's reasonably spec/priced.

Given what this so called Neo has to offer, I may buy one for my dad to get him away from mediocre windows laptops at his retired age. But not something so expensive its a bust if he just doesn't like Mac OS.

Wooo, it’s time to get STOKED for the first announcement of a MAJOR tentpole of the BEST pipeline ever! Today, Apple revolutionizes the MacBook market. The shine on the Apple has never been brighter! Stay tuned!

I’m really curious if Apple’s expected rush of traffic in stores actually materializes.

It's a pun on the 12" MacBook - aka MacBook adorable, aka MacBookone (due to the single USB port) - after all Neo is the one 😉

My Apple addiction is so bad that I already have an m3 15” Macbook Air and an m5 iPad Pro 13” and I’m still thinking of buying this Apple Chromebook 🙈

It's not down. At least not the US store and in my country. But MacRumors was down for hours this morning.

People definitely need to temper their expectations for this. It’s going to target mostly kids and young adults in education. Don’t expect pro specs.
In other words, casual users that might need a laptop vs. an ipad or phone and hate the functionality of a chromebook and aren't concerned about high end specs. Count me in.

It's going to be a lower cost MacBook. Most likely worse in every possible way compared to a MacBook Air, because why would Apple compete with their bread & butter premium Macs?

It will likely be a bargain bin stripped down Air. Can't say I have high hopes.

Apple's online store has gone down, just minutes before the company is expected to announce a lower-cost MacBook, which may be named MacBook Neo.

Apple already unveiled six products this week, including an iPhone 17e, a new iPad Air, new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, an updated Studio Display, and an all-new Studio Display XDR that replaces the Pro Display XDR.

To learn about these new products, read our coverage of Apple's announcements:
MacRumors is attending an "Apple Experience" in New York today at 9 a.m. Eastern Time, so stay tuned for hands-on coverage. At this gathering, Apple is preparing to show attendees a video, which is likely to reveal the new MacBook.
