The price tag on this, the clunky cord hanging down, the bugs that this will have, all made me say hard pass. If you're buying one, enjoy and have fun! :D

Neil Cybart should be working for Apple the way he’s hyping Vision Pro. It’s hilarious how he claims iPhone and Apple Watch are “self isolating” but Vision Pro isn’t. It’s highly unlikely anyone is going to use Vision Pro outside the home. Maybe on an airplane but the intent there would be self isolation, not interacting with the people sitting next to you. Pass through doesn’t solve the problem of having big, bulky goggles on your face that make you look like a dork. There is a reason we haven’t seen any photos of Tim Cook or any other Apple executive wearing Vision Pro.

Really? The app said make sure you have the latest Apple Store app installed. It appeared to be so when it took me to the App Store. Now it complains my iOS needs to be updated. So much for preparing, as I didn’t think that mattered. Download says 29 minutes. (Note: I’ve had auto updates on and charge at night, how am I still on 16.0)

Probably a sign to not order it. Though, for various reasons, it’s a bit difficult to get to an Apple Store and wait in line for a demo right now, it will be eating me to see it firsthand. Reviewers these days in YouTube generally all say the same thing while avoiding the real questions or getting specific enough to be truest helpful

The AVP is not a MBP replacement. it’s a television replacement. it’s going to revolutionize home theaters. especially when copy cat cheaper versions arrive.

It's not because you can only watch on your own

The other thing I remember is just how painfully slow it was on the 2G network.

I was surprised at the level of media hype in the UK, even after it was out it kept being pushed.

3G was already widespread at the time and the iPhone only had some half-baked 2.5G 'Edge' capabilities (which had to be installed for it)

“Unfortunately,
Apple Vision Pro does not currently support prescriptions with a prism value.”

Still hoping this can be adjusted in software.

Saw the final checkout price for the 512gb version, after tax, just above $4k, and I finally hesitated as the cost finally hit me and made it difficult to complete the purchase.

I began to think, even if the theater experience is magical and perfect, plus productivity, simply poor comfort, like any VR/AR is going to ruin that. Plus we still know so little about it, from actual software, what devs are working on (and some saying no access to pass through), how the passthrough looks in low light, etc. I suppose there is no risk in trying it, and returning it no more inconvenient as trying to do a demo in store, but I just don't feel it could ever wow me enough to keep it at this cost.

While typing this, the pick up date slipped from Feb 4 to the 6.
