Well, they finally updated the look of the Education landing page. It had been a long time since that was updated (iMac G5 was pictured).

Weird thing is, for the UK store, visit these two links:

http://store.apple.com/uk (works)

http://www.apple.com/uk/thestore (closed)

One works, other is closed

Also for america:

http://store.apple.com/us (works)
http://www.apple.com/thestore (closed)

Is the big change a nicer web address? America used to be http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore, not very nice!

Both now working... unlike myself. Better do some before anybody here notices me going.

Just had a live sales chat with someone on the UK Store...

"Hi there - I noticed the store was unavailable for a period of time, may I ask why this was?

Deborah: Yes that's right

Deborah: It was just down for planned maintenance

Deborah: Apple appreciates your interest and encourages you to stay up to date on Apple news. Visit Apple Hot News at www.apple.com/hotnews to keep up to date with the latest Apple news and releases."

Not especially helpful, but it may have just genuinely been down for maintenance!

Do they use bots to answer chat conversations? That sounds like a bot talking.

The first two answers sounded human to me, but I think the last sentence was just a stock reply they can auto-insert into the conversation, to save them typing it.

Well i might have discovered something....in the US business store clicking on any computer/notebook will either give you a session timeout error or a redirect loop error...

Here's something I noticed.....

If you click on the mac refurbs section, on the right side of the screen under special offers, it shows that the macbook air is now $1499 (refurbished), but if you scroll down, it still shows $1549.

its for sure the education store, its different. prettier I guess, but I dont really care.

yay getting excited for nothing.

I can't believe they would close the online store for this long just to have minor updates to the website.

They are losing way to much money having the site down that long.

Unless something went totally wrong and they only had intentions of having it down for half an hour.

ahhh anybody else notice the business store from my last post??..."Well i might have discovered something....in the US business store clicking on any computer/notebook will either give you a session timeout error or a redirect loop error... "
