I have a silly evidence but evidence still!

Now replace the 'singapore' with 'china'
You get an image!

Now replace the singapore/china with any other country that doesnt have an Apple Online Store yet like Greece, India, etc!

See what happens!
Whats more, Apple wouldnt want China to be the first country to have 4 retails but no online store would it now!

meh!

china store?

the icon for china seems legit. has this always been the case? i could totally see apple making an announcement today on launching china store and china retail stores. i guess we'll have to wait until 8:30 est to find out...

nope nothing new here. Same old same old. I keep checking me.com and everytime I think i will get to the site.

MMe is only launching on 9th midnight (9/10 July not 8/9) PT!
Apple's already announced that!

So did this really just happen, the Apple store went down for hours, Worldwide and for nothing!! What gives???

I was desperate for the Mini update :(

it was very disappointing... and to think i stayed up till 2:30 AM for nothing. however not as bad as some people who stayed up until it came back online

Even though I am not familiar at all with the way websites work, my guess is that they were enabling features and setting up the changeover for the 11th so all they have to do is something quick like flicking a switch and the change will happen almost instantly, rather than having the store offline when all the people are going there to get the info.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but I see that there are no refurbished macbook pro 15"s now. I was just looking at a bunch of them last night, and now there is none. I guess it could be that they just sold out, but it just seems weird to me.

So am I stating something stupid or could it be a sign?

Nope, not a stupid observation at all. My bet is on your suggestion that they sold out, though. Because why would they choose to ditch the refurbs? They'd still have to get rid of them if new MBPs came out, only at a lower price.

I don't know, but I think JML just above you got it right.

Sometimes if the 17in Pro's aren't selling as well in the refurb store, then they will eliminate all 15in for a day or two.
They didn't sell out, that's for sure.
Just like yesterday, they had only the $950 macbook up.
They were probably trying to get rid of them.

They will be back soon enough.

You guys are all hilarious! Lots of speculation!

It is now 2:45PM Eastern in the U.S. and the Apple store is up, and i don't see any changes. Probably just a hiccup.

Apple is running a test on rumor sites to see how hysterical their fanboys can get! :D

I'm not sure what people were expecting. There is absolutely no way they were going to put out new products today. Why would they do that when the iPhone is coming out in a couple days? They would never do anything to take the spotlight away from the iPhone. Furthermore, if they lumped a bunch of new products within a one week period for release, they'd have a bunch of weeks between the next big news.

They would never do that.
