I've seen a video about the scanner that was before the iPod touch.

You mean the original "EasyPay" handhelds that ran Windows CE and constantly lost signal? I ran 10 customers through the standard POS iMac in the time it would take a fellow Mac Specialist to ring out a customer with "EasyPay".

this is not Apple Retail. It's an employee who thinks he has talent.

Talented people are very empowered by some of Apple's stuff. As are the no taste, less talented. It's part of the course. Fortunately, cream does rise to the top in the end.

There's no way a manager didn't sign off on this for some sort of "team meeting". That's fine that the employee thinks he's talented. But the "drill-into-your-head" retail message is not the original spirit of Apple Retail. That''s my only point.

there are two more like this but WAYYY better sound and production o man but apple has them under serious guard :p
any money this one wont be up for long.

As long as they're off the clock, what's the harm and why all the harsh criticism?
The type of music doesn't matter. They're just having a good time.

God forbid that coworkers get along well enough to do stuff like this together.

it was probably made for a store meeting and as such would belong to Apple, having almost certainly been made on Apples time and property.

This thread just reminded me of how people often take themselves waaay too seriously

PS
Update: The video has been removed.

Was waiting for this. Never fail to disappoint on that front.

Not only has the video been removed....

I am willing to bet there are a few people from that retail store that no longer have a job.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with co-workers having a good time together.

But the thing was god awful. I thought I hated it just because I'm old and out of it (which, in fact, I am:eek:). Apparently, however, even the younger folks among us found this thing to be...um...not so good.

When even LTD can't find something to salvage out of it - you know you got a real bad little item on your hands.;)

It's a pleasure once to be able to agree with LTD :D:p

Oh come on why did they take it down, that was way better add to come from Apple that what the marketing companies have been bring out lately. Bring it back dam you all. :D

Sure whenever there is a video posted I'm at work... and by the time I get home it's taken down. I would have liked to see it, anyone able to grab it? Shoot me a PM :)

I can't believe how harsh people on this thread are being!

I thought the video was pretty funny. It made me smile!

All big companies try to train their staff to offer good customer service, and yes while it all looks a bit silly on paper, it's just common sense.

So what if some people at an Apple Store turned this into a music video, it is not to everyone's taste but who really cares enough to get aerated about it? I'm not into this style of music but what I saw was a bunch of people having a laugh together, that is a positive thing, right?

Also I can't help but feel that anybody who thinks these people are taking themselves totally seriously has missed the point. There is a definite touch of tongue in cheek in the video!

I knew Apple would ask for it to be removed, and I understand why... but I saved a copy :)

It reminds me of the EasyPay video from back in the day, totally silly but really quite funny. If people don't like it... move on, I reckon!

Entertaining, maybe. Steve wouldn't have allowed this to get out. Anything that looks like a joke or involves culture that can be dated would be cut from existence with a hawk's eye. Tough for me to say because I'm a musician and don't think it's bad, just seemingly not Apple at it's core.

Sad because I thought it was actually good considering the people who did it and how many there where who participated. Like to see stuff like this from other companies without a massive PR bull that permeates so much of companies today. Oh well we don't want to make the stock holders mad.
