Wise Move

They were wise not to try to stop the robber. It is only money. It is only hardware. It is only demo units. It is easily traced. The robber was a fool to take such products. Obviously the robber has impaired thinking. The robber might have hurt someone and over nothing worth getting hurt over. They'll catch the robber. Not a big issue. I'm glad nobody tried to be a hero.

Is that an Apple Policy or a law?

it's not like the products will work more than 5 minutes anyway. Floor models are linked to mobile me, and can only work on Apple's internal network anyway. The staff is told not to do anything because dumbasses committed a felony over soon-to-be-bricked phones... they'll all be in the trash within the week and the perps will still be facing felony charges.

its not exactly hard to figure out that someone is breaking the law if they are running out of a store with a bunch of crap under their arms.
So you believe in punishment before conviction? Wow.

Yeah, I totally want to live in an America where everyone is carrying a concealed weapon so if they think someone is doing something wrong, they can freaking shoot them. What a great country that would be.

I was there a couple of weeks ago, to get my iPhone 3G fixed and I saw on of the phones things that hold the phone to the table was cut. But then I asked the guy what happened and he told me that someone stole it and said but the joke on them because something about how they can't use it for some reason. I thought I saw a cop in the store that day I was there, I guess he left early the night this happened.

I used to work at the northpark store just north of this one. Stuff like this happens all the time. Every week phones and ipod touches get stolen. Laptops less frequent. All the products are insured so theres no point to chase them down. Most the phones do have mobile me and can be tracked if it hasnt been restored. All the computers have a deep freeze program that erases everything every morning at 8am.
