Wonder if the landlord was trying to milk Apple for a small fortune upon the lease renewal? If so, good on Apple for not renewing.

I think Apple wasn't interested in having a site-lease with a T.G.I.F. restaurant on it...

The issue was that they weren't allowed to replace the existing restaurant building with a (larger) store building, so they eventually let it go.

Do they still have this stupid system in Apple Stores, where you have to hunt for someone from the staff to check out with your purchase? Never understood why they can't just have regular cashiers.

There is the self checkout via Apple Store app so you can buy yourself.

Swedish law gives three years of "right of complaint" where YOU have to prove that the product was faulty from the start.

Actually, that is not accurate. Any problem that manifests itself in the first two years is considered an original defect. See here

Not really. Mac forum cannot handle all repairs and charges more than Apple for repairs as well. I had an iPad with a strange sound problem. Macforum (Lund) looked at it and said that since they could not reproduce it, they would not help me (even though I had a video showing the problem). They said if they took it in, they would be charged a penalty by Apple. So I ran out to the Apple Store at emporia the same day and they replaced it on the spot.
They also charge more than Apple for battery replacements.

There is no need for that because Macforum, an Apple Premium Partner has (I think) the world's biggest Apple Premium Partner Outlet/Shop in Nordstan (central Gothenburg). So Apple already has Gothenburg covered 👍

It appears to be a fairly new law since May 1 2022 so no wonder many haven't heard of it. Good to know!
