Yes, I'm sure it's as simple as that, and he'll get right on that, just to be closer to the Apple Store. 🙄 😛 😉

* Pick up a leaflet from Apple Store Employees if you would like to win one of 5 iPods that are being given away, winners will be announced throughout the afternoon.
Also look for Apple Store Employees who will be on hand to answer questions, demonstrate iPod and give you a chance to win one of fifty iPod Minis during the Grand Opening on 20th November.
Doctor Q said:Why? I don't understand how an intentional delay would be stategic. How could one more store in California be better for business than the first store in Paris?
Or is there a technical reason? Do they really not have the resources to open a dozen more international stores? I can understand that it took a lot of legal wrangling (and therefore time) to set up the EU iTunes Music Stores, but how hard is it to open a retail store? Starbucks seems to have no problem. In fact, Starbucks said this month that they will triple the number of stores worldwide. So why is it hard, or smart, for Apple to still have so few non-U.S. brick and mortar stores?
Damn, apple gave out some free ipods yesterday - it was the annual turn-on-the-christmas-lights party - quote from regentstreetonline.com below:

So, looks like there will be some giveaways on the day
This is great to see, hear and read about - I can tell how enthusiastic and excited people are for this grand opening. What other store other than an Apple Store would you see this kind of excitement and anticipation for? Surely not a Best Buy or a Tesco.

- Paris
- Berlin
- Frankfurt
- Madrid
- Barcelona
- Brussels
- Amsterdam
- Milan
- Rome
and I could still add like 10 more.
Come on...if you could manage to arrange with all the record records...it should not be that dificult to hire a place and set-up a store...for sure much easier than the Itunes arrangement.
I think Apple Stores where people can really look at Macs and can ask a sales people that knows what´s hes talking about really can do a LOT for Mac business.

mattmook said:True, if Tesco were giving out free food I'd be tempted as well, but I don't think you would ever see the number of people queuing outside a Tesco that you did for the Apple Store Ginza - just watch this video: http://homepage.mac.com/masanorif/iMovieTheater23.html. As you will see plenty of people will queue outside the store for many many hours of which most of them will get nothing for free whatsoever.

Only Apple has this kind of following 🙂 We are certainly to be seen as mad people...Anyway, maybe no other store has this kind of excitement but i'm pretty sure when Star Wars EP3 comes out there will be some excitement as well...If I remember correctly some dude camped in front of a cinema for 6 months to wait for SW EP1 🙂

They were very pretentious and wouldn't let me actually touch the display computers. I can see why so few people (on Guernsey at least) would buy a Mac.

She had a glimpse at the shop interior and her comment was that they've got an awful lot of work to do to get it finished for the 20th. I'd imagine the contractors are claused up to their eyeballs not to miss the launch date, but I had a funny fantasy of Steve hitting the roof when he finds out it wasn't finished in time, ha ha.
