With salespeople, it's often the luck of the draw as to whether you get good help.
the "mac genius" biatch i hate was fired i think...thank god.
most of them are nice, there are a few who are rude and/or snotty though

Wow, there's some anger there!

Weel I suppose well see.

I think the folks at the Apple Store Michigan Avenue would surprise all of us. If the crop of employees are anything like Niketown next door or the Sony Store on the other side, it's will be quite a pleasant experience - if a bit crowded. All the F***ing time. :D

Expect big things from the Chicago store - that is a huge audience which is very open to "change" if it doesn't require driving to Schaumburg or Woodfield (two disgustingly large Malls about 45 minutes west).

Scahumberg and Woodfield are the same palce. You mean Woodfield and Oakbrook, which ain't that big.

When is the Michigan Ave. sotre supposed to open? it's been building forever.

uhh, it's über, not uber and you do the "ü" by holding down the option key while pressing the u key and then press it again after letting go of the option key.

if you've never had the blonde genius biatch i had at the apple store @ the grove you wouldn't understand. she is the DEVIL, she is a true moron, she is stupid and she is rude to EVERYONE
sorry man but she is hell. seriously. i don't even want to know how she got that job.

When you tell people how to use the Option key on a Mac to type ü, you might want to mention the equivalent for those using a PC, since some members are using them. Under Windows, hold down the Alt key while you press 0 2 5 2 on the numeric keypad. Then release the Alt key to get the ü character. If that seems awkward, it's yet another reason to switch!

I see from the poll about OSes that you, me, ibookin'@mwny, scem0, and others use Windows, not just Macs. Most of my posts are from Mac OS machines, but I post from Windows too. I wonder what percentage of posts are from Mac machines? Or visits/views for that matter. Hmmm. I wonder if vBulletin can keep track of the browser info it receives?

grab a tshirt while you're there!

funkywhat2 and i will probably be among the first at the opening of the walt whitman mall tomorrow. this'll be my second opening, aside from the SoHo one. Maybe we'll see other macrumors members, although they'll be no way of knowing.

we should wear a name tag, I am "x name" at macrumors.com :D :D

well my friend whom i'll be with(funkywhat2) will be wearing a white apple store SoHo shirt, and he's kinda tall, so you'll probably see him, and a shorter kid (me) with him. if you see us, say hi :)

Well we certainly need an apple store in nashville. I live about 5 minutes away from the mall (which is being redone, currently, and would accept an apple store quite nicely) but I still have to drive out 20 minutes to CompUSA or the closest mac reseller when I need my apple fix.

And I need a job.

i went to bell sq. the line had to be 1 mile long, atleast 2500 people there. 3% my ass. i tried to buy a tshirt for 20 dollars. i asked a teenager there if i could buy his tshirt, and he is like nah i cam ejust for the tshirt, i saw in his bag he had the 30o gig ipod. ****ing *******,. "yah i came just for a tshirt...and a 500 dollar ipod.."

needless to say i did not wait and I will be going very early on monday morning, hopefully it will not be like that

haha, I thought you were taking the preverbial about the ü but no it's true. That must be the ASCII code is it? surely there is an easier way like control alt, then a for á?

Woohoo!!! Been waiting for one in Walnut Creek forever... it's the perfect place to put one... For every city in Contra Costa County, with the exceptions of San Ramon and Antioch (possibly coincidentally, the two nearest In-n-Out Burger's), Walnut Creek is no more than 25 minutes away (or an hour on Friday afternoons). Emeryville is an hour at least when you count traffic, and Palo Alto is 90-120 minutes away. Plus there's no parking in Palo Alto.

My only questions are: where will it be? There's only two or three possibilities - Broadway Plaza (why - a big black store there, with huge black tarps covering the windows, so no one can see in. why not - The store is supposedly called Walnut Creek... if it was in Broadway, it'd be Walnut Creek - Broadway Plaza), In the lot where the old Festival Cinemas used to be (why - decently large lot, something being built, not part of Broadway. why not - not enough nearby parking, not that high traffic a location), and in the building complex with the new theater (if THAT ever opens  . why - will soon be high traffic area, parking, not in Broadway. why not - every building there is UGLY as sin, and fairly small).

In the end though, I don't really care where it is, as long as it opens. The other question is when. I know 2003... but a slightly better time frame would be nice.

I think I might get a job there... maybe as a Mac Genius or something.

"Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts: Chestnut Hill"

hot damn! There's gonna be an apple store 2 miles away from me when I'm home from college! :D And there's already one a 20 min. drive from me at college -- Lucky me! :D
