It's hit or miss-I think. some stores show no stock of iphones (which can't be true. most have at least 6s). I use it as a starting point and then check on Apple.com via the reservation page. always start the morning off on Apple.com though.
Thanks smarks90..

how does istocknow even work?...I got the activation email but I cant click on the RG 6s Plus 128gb "alert me by email" because it's greyed out and for the 64gb version, clicking the alert email button does nothing.

According to iStocknow, my area has a boatload of 6S phones for every carrier, in every size and color. The 6S Plus is like the old needle in a haystack. Some days none show up as available, and some days, there may be 3 or 4 for the entire day.

Tip: Even if you order another carrier like Verizon/Sprint/Tmobile and if you really needed a ATT model due to LTE band 30 before you pickup your reservation as the genius who is helping you to check if they have ATT or the exact model you wanted and they can check instantly and you will be lucky to get a model you wanted.
I reserved a Tmobile 64S+ rose gold but asked the genius if any ATT model was available and he said yes and allowed me to purchase an ATT model full price which is unlocked.

I'm hoping to snag a reservation for an AT&T 64GB SG 6s+ to swap out my T-Mobile 64GB SG 6s+ for band 30, and because mine has a couple dead pixels and a shard under the glass :l

After 4 days of waking up before 8am to try and reserve the phone I wanted (6s+ 128gb RG T-Mobile/Verizon), I was finally able to snatch one at 8:02am. At the exact point when I was just able to reserve it (menu with time, name, info), there was some error saying my reservation could not be completed.

I refreshed my page and the phone was GONE, not available anymore...literally less than ONE MINUTE of re-trying due to the error, its gone....I cant believe how fast that was gone. People must be staking out at 8am to get their hands on it.

Luckily, by some miracle, I reserved an email saying my phone was reserved for pickup and I called the store to verified it.

Man what luck!

Just made a reservation for the 6S Plus 128 GB AT&T model around noon as it became available and will pick mine up around 8 to 8:30 pm.

Yep, I bought a 6S Plus Silver 128GB AT&T variant on release day and I just found a SG version so I reserved it and returned my silver version.

Just to follow up, went to pick it up at 7 pm, got home opened it. dun dun dun, had a hot pixel right by the time area on the top and very noticeable. Ended up going back and returning this one, was planning to do an exchange but they didn't have any, so went ahead with a full refund. Will try again later.

I ordered on Oct 5 a 6S+ RG 64GB and it gave me a delivery of November 5-9.
Today I randomly checked Apple's stock and it seem they received a shipment, so I made an reservation, cancelled my online order, and went in and picked it up. I was out in 10 minutes.
I don't think I will ever order online anymore.
