Apple Store still down?

I posted this in another thread, but I managed to get thru the checkout process at Apple.com via an incognito Chrome browser.

I had tried that several times already, as well as three other browsers refreshing constantly. This is clearly a load balancing issue on Apple's end.

That being said, I was able to place an order for a 6+ 128gb Space Grey for delivery on 9/19 (no contract, T-mobile, unlocked).

I wanted in-store pickup, but the options were absolutely terrible. No in-store pickup for almost all the models. The only one I could find was in a Tyson's Corner (DC). I live in NC...

So -- if you can get through, just slam home delivery option and figure it out later.

Tried incognito Chrome. "We'll be right back."

it's been saying that for me since 2:55am EST.

how the hell are so many people being able to place their orders?

Apparently the iPad App works relatively well but it shows "Currently Unavailable" on all models for me. This is so frustrating.

Dunno, but it's not an option for me. Buying through Apple is the only way to get a truly unlocked phone.

Same here. It's strange how the bs carrier websites are up and running within seconds, whereas Apple is over an hour and 20 minutes and counting off. Someone's getting fired for this. Or not, and maybe they'll do better next year.

If it is officially a tmobile one, it will be locked even if you buy from apple... they do that to reduce international sales... i have bought from them directly before and i still had to wait for an unlock ... annoying ...

That is incorrect. T-Mobile version purchased from Apple is unlocked. Just take out the SIM and restore. It'll say your phone is unlocked. If you buy the iPhone from T-Mobile website or stores it will be locked even though you pay full price and have to wait.

This is confirmed by T-Mobile Twitter rep as well and based on iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S experience. Apple does not advertise this openly because of reason you mentioned. You can also search for discussion on this forum for more details.

Got a confirmation email saying they reserved a iPhone 6 Plus 64GB for me. Cant contact server. Already was 7-10 days. I don't buy that though. Everything was all messed up. I am sure those will go out in the first batches.

After trying to access the site and the app since pre-orders started, I FINALLY was able to get through on the app and get the iPhone 6 64GB space grey for Verizon with a shipping of 9/19. The odd thing that I don't remember them doing in the past is they actually gave me a "reservation" for one, saying that they have one reserved for me and that they will email me with instructions to complete the order.

I guess this is normal?

This is utter crap. I have a surgery in next 3 hours. I need to sleep. If not for me but for the patient's sake. HELL WITH THIS CRAP.

This is driving me wild. I could get through on the App, *BUT* I want to use Bill Me Later to get 6 months financing, and that is only on the website.

I wonder how long I will be up?

I ordered mine through the apple store on my iphone at around 12:45am pst. The friend with me was able to do the same at the same time. We both got space grey 128gb.

Still remember how easy it was to pre order 5s last year. Was piece of cake. Done in 5 mins.

This year? What a cluster****! :mad:q
