This kind of happenned to me too.

I went in last Friday and got my 32gb phone, 2 otterbox defender cases and 2 packs of screen protectors. The girl behind the counter said " that'll be $296". I asked if she rang up a 32 and she looked at it and said that I asked for a 16. Maybe I did, maybe I didn't.

I told her I was sorry but I wanted a 32. She went to the back and got the other phone and rang it up. Took an extra 5 minutes and I walked out with my 32.

If it was an honest mistake the store should honestly fix it without inconveniencing the customer. The customer shouldn't have to lift a finger.
This happened to me at best buy, which to was an honest mistake, I asked for a black 16 and a 8 was mistakenly put with the 16's. The bb rep called ATT and simply voided the transaction/activation. sure it was 10 extra minutes but I didn't have to lift a finger.

I did my bitching about an ATT store the day I bought mine and had to go to the Apple store to get taken care of.

Just a question: Does your wife know how much the phone costs? I knew when the Apple guy told me it was $300+ that it was the right phone. Depending on what you were expecting to pay ($299, $450, or $499) your wife should have known what the approximate cost was going to be. She could have caught it immediately. They're not selling 32GBs for $200+.

Sorry for your delay/wait. Next time approximate the cost before hand and if the cost deviates, ask questions.

This is terrible service, and a really bad customer buying expirience. I'm sure if any of the higher ups at Apple heard this story, or even the store manager, this would have been straightened out very quickly.

I hate doing it too, but sometimes it helps to ask for a manager. ;)

Apple obviously can't guarantee that all of their retail employees are going to be perfect, but in my experience they've mostly been professional and well trained. I'm sure this guy would have had a stern talking to if management found out about this. Apple has had serious issues with the iPhone buying experience in the past - they want to make it as easy as possible to spend your money....

It's a good thing you've never made a mistake in your life.

Dude, get over it. They made a mistake. They said they will fix it. What's the problem? You don't get an extra 16 GB for 4 days? Do you really need that space in the next 4 days?

Dont tell me to get over it, You dont get it! Its not about the iphone. my wife got to the apple store around 11 am and this ordeal lasted until 9 pm. she was at the store until 5 pm got home called att was on the phone with them for an hour, then she called the apple store they left her on hold for 30 min, the manager at the apple store told her to call att, the att tried calling the apple store but she couldnt be on hold for a long time. 8:30 we had to drive to a corporate att store to pick up a sim card. I have 10 employees working around the city I needed to get a hold of them put since i didnt have a phone it ruined my day. so dont tell me to get over it when you dont understand the situation i was in.

from what my wife told me she didnt even see the price. he wasnt taking care of her on a counter , they were just standing on the middle of the store

Yeah, your wife didn't realize that the iPhone was suddenly $100 cheaper then she had expected?

Like I said she didnt even see the price, its not like the were over the counter with a big screen with the price showing he was holding a small handheld computer in the middle of the store, and it doesnt even matter if she had seen the price or not it would of been too late anyway since he had already scanned it
