iPod touch Apple Store Troy Michigan- 16 GB Touch In Stock!

Anyone know if any of the 5 stores around the Washington D.C. area have any in stock?

Before you start flaming me like "omg just call them", I'll let you know that I don't have a phone available at the time ;-)
 
im having trouble deciding whether or not I should cancel my online pre-order in case my local store (15 minutes away) gets it tomorrow. I don't want to be stuck with a shipped iPod in the mail and have to wait a bunch of days, when I could just pick it up so close by. Not really sure what to do yet, because my store hasn't guaranteed delivery yet...
 
What the heck is Shens? Either way, It would be fantastic if they released tomorrow, but I have a feeling that either these people are being mis-informed by underpaid apple representatives who are confusing it with some version of a different product they offer or they are not telling the truth. Either way, speculation is fun.

i came so effing close to getting an ipod touch 16 gig, but im sure some others will have one by tonight :(

Calling the Tysons store now...
 
Amazing, in the time it took my post to go up, three people posted within a minute, only a half hour old and this thread is working to its third page. I went to check my shipping date if I had it and it still says around the 3rd. :mad:
 
there's no way they could have been confusing it with the iPhone. The store in Michigan specifically said 16 GB is in stock right now...the iPhone doesn't come in that model
 
I called the troy, michigan store again, they said they are getting them in little by little so i think ill just hold off for the 8 gigger anyway, but the thought that i could have a 16 gig touch in my hands now if comerica wasnt closed makes me mad :mad:

yeah I really wish apple would have told their stores a concrete date, everyone has different information, it makes it much more frustrating

none of the apple stores were expecting them anyway, if you called yesterday even the michigan one would have said 28th, it seems they find out right wen the shipments come in. So donbt count on that, they will get them today or tomorrow
 
Ill try to call the troy, michigan store after my evening class to see if they have the ipod touches in or not. I want to see if they are just confused.

I had a friend who worked at an Apple store and they said the same thing. They don't know they are getting anything till it shows up.
 
USA Today has a story today, that seems to say the Touch is coming this week-

The Wi-Fi store was flawless in tests on the Touch, which Apple says will hit retailers later this week. Wi-Fi downloads, which will require a software update for iPhone owners, will also be available by then.

It's ever-so-slightly vague as to whether they mean the Touch, or the Wifi store. But obviously the wifi store isn't going to hit retailers...

I'm sure shipments will start soon. In the long run, a day or 2 won't matter... ;)
 
this could be the biggest hoax ever pulled on macrumors. you know were all drooling to see some pics
