If it is Macbooks (and I just refreshed the US Apple Store to make sure it isn't yet), I'm buying one. But not for me personally. I'm going to bring my grandparents into the digital age with it -- depending, of course, on price and specs. For $999 with an integrated iSight (integrated graphics are almost a given, and I don't care either way), I'm sold. If it costs more than that or comes with less, I'm going to have to rethink. My generosity only extends so far.

My sister just got her first Apple computer, an Intel iMac, and she found it so easy to set up that I thought she made a good trial run for my grandparents' potential experience. They've never touched a computer, but my grandmother likes the idea of e-mail (and a softer keypad than her typewriter), and my grandfather is the sort of guy who would spend hours on HowStuffWorks.com. So, yeah, I'm buying. With provisions.

I can't wait!!!

New iPod socks: only $49.99 each since they are made of cashmere

I've had to commandeer a PC to do some work on, as I can't plug the PowerBook into my client's network and use the local Wi-Fi Hotspot at the same time.

Ugh!! I'm using Windows. Hurry up Apple. :(

Ok it;s back up in the UK. But what has changed?

EDIT : SORRY NO ITS NOT, (my mistake)

EDIT AGAIN : im tempted to call apple and try and place an order for an iBook just to see what they say.

ok so Macbook prices ?

old ibook was £699 for the 12"

new macbook ? £799

what do you all think :) :)

Don't think the bottom of the range MacBook will be more than £749 UK if not £699 and $999 therefore remaining at same price for the bottom of the range model
