How do you know that they will be in stock at the Apple Stores this Friday?

That's kinda what this tread is about...I'm not saying "I know" they will be in stock this Friday, but more of the store is right down the street and I have the day off work, no harm in stopping buy to see if they have one in stock.

I'm thinking they could be, just because its in-line with the pre-order deliveries.

Either that or Monday

Mine delivers Monday, so no biggie if they don't have them. I would prefer to get it on the weekend though so I can spend some time setting it up and playing with it.

I like having it delivered to my office. Same cost, all about convenience for me. Not to mention, no guarantee they'll have enough on hand.

Assuming they get it in stores on Friday, how many will each store get? So, like the iPhone and iPad maybe they will sell out quickly. But, I would expect they will probably not sell out unless really limited supply. I plan to buy 3 or 4 and I only ordered 2 so if I do not get mine on Friday I might swing by and pick up 1 if in stock. Still a 45 minute round trip drive.

You're comparing the Apple TV popularity to the iPhone and iPad?

Of course not. But it is a supple vs. demand consideration. I assume Apple will also not make as many Apple TV's as it does iPhone's and iPad's. BUT, I assume you saw my "But, I would expect they will probably not sell out unless really limited supply".

Personally, I would shocked if you couldn't stroll into an Apple Store Friday evening and pick up any version of the Apple TV 4

Walked in casually at 9am today and easily picked up a 64GB model
Good for you. Mine will be here next week. Nearest Apple store is 60 miles from me. The money I lose taking 2 hours out of my day to pick one up would be more than the cost of the device. 😉

It is quite good for me actually, excited to enjoy this device this all weekend 🙂

I did a pre-order on monday 9am (or sooner) didn't get shipped order online for local pickup! no i have two haha

Well, I ordered three on Monday, and selected the free shipping. Nevertheless, all three have been delivered to my house today. And I didn't have to elbow through the crowds at the Grand Central Terminal store.

I think the takeaway here is, no matter how you prefer to shop, enjoy your new gadget!
