Apple has temporarily closed all five of its retail stores in the United Arab Emirates, including three locations in Abu Dhabi and two in Dubai.

All five of the stores will remain closed through at least Tuesday, March 3, according to Apple's website. This aligns with the Emirati government recommending that companies in the private sector take measures to avoid the presence of workers in open areas, if and where possible, from Sunday, March 1 until Tuesday, March 3.

One of Apple's shuttered stores is at the Dubai Mall, near the famous Burj Khalifa skyscraper. A sign says the store will remain closed "until further notice."

The other closed stores are at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, and at the Yas Mall, Al Jimi Mall, and Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi.

Internally, Apple says the stores are closed due to a "safety situation," according to a source familiar with the matter. The closures come amid escalating conflict in the Middle East, following recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.

Makes sense. I know someone who happened to be in Abu Dhabi for business this week. Probably best to avoid overtly “Western” sites in the region until the situation calms down.

What about the freedom of Americans to like not start multiple simultaneous wars while intentionally alienating their allies almost as if someone was intentionally setting us up to be unilaterally crushed in the near future?

But totally agree Apple stores aren’t the point 😉

Our allies support this. Stop trying to find a reason to hate a good thing because it's being carried out by someone you hate.

Unsure what allies you’re referring to. I’m only aware of America’s allies making clear statements they’re not involved and expressing dismay at their own troops being targeted in the crossfire.
A definition that’s going to be used less and less. Would Canada describe themselves as an ally? Denmark? France? Even the UK’s “special relationship” is with the divorce lawyers.

The US under the current administration is going to find itself more and more isolated and ostracised.

The us can take every country in the world on at once bro, regardless a dictator that oppressed its people and funded terrorism is being dealt with, what’s wrong with that?

The UK is the reason ties are strained. Starmer is sitting by while his Country is being defeated without a shot being fired. Hopefully The UK wakes up and throws him out of Office

Lol. No, seriously, LOL.

No one is shedding any tears over the death of Khamenei (except for his fellow dictators). But there are at least two problems with what Trump and Netanyahu have done: they have created a precedent for state leaders to be murdered rather than brought to justice, and in Trump’s case they have done so illegally: only Congress has the power to declare war for the United States.

Obama and Clinton bombed multiple Countries without a peep from Congress.
His position is Commander in Chief, not Consultant in Chief.
Getting Congress involved means warning Iran what is to come. In this instance with a rogue State like Iran he did the right thing. IMO.

The constitutional scholar has spoken!

Anyway, I'm sure that relentlessly bombing Middle East countries that have no capability to strike the US, and doing so without any care or plan whatsoever for what happens in the aftermath will work out well, just as it always has.

Article I, section 8 of the Constitution reserves the power to declare war to Congress, not the President.

So does deploying more force to the region than has been seen in twenty years.

Edit to add: the deployment took place over a period of – what? Weeks? Months? – which gave him plenty of time to go to Congress for authorization. Not doing so was a choice.
