Had the issue earlier today, series 7 and 15 pro max. Seems to have resolved itself. I was at Apple swapping out the pro max and noticed it was showing again, modular duo face.

Yeah, for $20 $15/year
Carrot weather complications are not free, they require a subscription.
You're right. I still have a grandfathered subscription for $3 a year. Well worth it to me, but I could see why $15 might not be to most people.
The watch app is not free, and I found the forecasts to be surprisingly inaccurate compared to Apple‘s own app.
The accuracy depends a lot on where you are. I'm using the default Foreca at the moment and find it more accurate than Apple's forecast where I'm at (Stockholm, Sweden), in particular in terms of when and if it will rain (which matters the most to me as I commute by bike).

I agree the accuracy is regional. I think it’s the improvements after Apple bought Dark Sky that have drastically improved my local rain forecasts in Florida.

Hi, does anyone know which App or complication is the one in the image of this blog post? Thanks!

1st one didn’t work for me. Not gonna attempt 2nd one while on vacation. I manually selected a city now, seems to work so far.
The second one resets location and privacy and wouldn’t affect you in such a way like restoring your phone.

i did the 24 hour time switch and then back to 12 and it fixed it, but it was only 12 hrs ago so not sure if it will keep working

Reseting the location and privacy settings worked for me when I tried it 3 days ago and the problem hasn't returned.

Are we assuming that these updates are just to make the weather app complications load properly, because I would think letting an update out the door that has caused what looks to be a pretty widespread battery depletion issue should be more of a concern to Apple.

So while they are fixing it on my Ultra, can you fix it on my iPhone? About 50% of the time the widget is blank on my iPhone and has been that way for at least a year. I keep wanting to just stop using the widget and open the app, since I have to tap the widget to make it work.

Instead of resetting our devices all the time and wasting time setting it ip again. Why not apply first time fix?

Also fix the colour changing scheme if i wake up my watch from sleep mode. The watch face colours are all ober the place. Introduced in WatchOS9.

I never really rely on weather widgets or complications for to-the-minute info. They always seem to be lagging behind and I need to go to the app for current data.

This reminds me of trying to chase down fixes on Android except on there you’d need to add clear the cache and remove / reinstall the app.

That’s pretty amazing since you can have carrot pull the data from Apple if you want too. The nice part about Carrot, you can pull weather data from one of many sources. If you have Carrot set to Apple, it will be the same as Apples weather app. It might be different if Carrot is on Foreca and Apple Weather is pulling from Apple. It happens. Ever watch the news and every weather person has something different? They all don’t tell you the exact same thing. The same goes for weather apps.

The free version is set to Foreca

I use AccuWeather because it’s the most accurate for my area. There is a website (I’ll look for it) and it tells you what source is more accurate for your area.

I pay for the family plan and it comes out to $8.33 a year each. I get everything and it’s well worth it. The fact I can change the source to anything is well worth it alone (and it works…). Carrot has so many features, I was able to delete 4-5 other weather apps.

Edit: here is the site to check to see what weather source is the most accurate for your area: https://www.forecastadvisor.com/

POTENTIAL fixes? We don’t really know what’s going on, so throw some 💩at the board and see if it sticks.
Wow, just wow.

Yeah this is more what I'd expect from Microsoft or Google. It's more Apple's style to ignore it completely until they patch it.

Having said that, when I experienced this issue myself it seems like these are the right answers because the whole problem was that it wasn't automatically showing weather for my current location. If you manually add a location it works.

10.0.2 fixed it for me yesterday on the Ultra 2…woke up this morning and it’s broken again 🤬

UPDATE: Did the Reset Location & Privacy suggestion and it is back working for now. Frustrating that I have to answer the location pop up again for all my apps. I have not done that in years lol.
