I'm glad apple found out because those chinese company's already have an advantage with there cheap labor. Knowing what new things are coming out before everyone else is really unfair.

Has any news story not received at least 1 negative?

I'm just really perplexed where people would look at this as a bad thing...

They should also sue the case companies who bought the info.

You are being misled by the discussions. One of the companies involved supplies the earphone not the case. In fact, except for the bumper Apple does not bundle any case with its products.

"We have zero tolerance for dishonest behavior inside or outside the company."

Shoot! I did 60 in a 50 zone while trying to make it to the football game on time yesterday.

I hope Apple didn't catch wind of that.

That sounds rather sinister. Who would these "minions" be, and what do you mean by "sending them after him"? He was an Apple employee, probably going to work every day like most of the adults on this board do, so why would there be any need to "send Steve's minions after him"? Please explain to us exactly what you mean. You may have some misconceptions about the real world that we could clean up for you.

Do you see the rolling eyes after his post. This was meant to be a joke. That being said though. Foxconn employees have been interrogated in the past and one dude even jumped out of a building (I dunno, maybe he was tossed  ). Stories like that and the unlawful search and seizure of the bought iPhone 4 and the state power brought to bear on those that oppose Apple, lead to the humor in comments like the one you replied to.

Go get yourself a cup of coffee and relax, it's Monday.

I like the way you 'meh'ed a perfectly correct definition, and then offer a wholly wrong one in return. Your self belief might be admirable, your wisdom sadly isn't.

kickback [ˈkɪkˌbæk]
n
1. a strong reaction
2. part of an income paid to a person having influence over the size or payment of the income, esp by some illegal arrangement

Meh, I misread the article. Its not a big deal. Carry on with your life.

AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Enough nit picking already!

In an unprecedented turn of events, everyone agrees that this guy broke the law. So, we're going to have to argue over something else. Like grammar, spelling, word choice. For instance, you really should have typed:

Enough nit picking, already!

Agreed.

Grammar, spelling and word choice is something that is in steep decline. The MacRumors comment box should reject poor spelling and grammar.

They're, there and their. :D

Your compassion is misplaced. There are too many innocent people deserving of it.

No, you're wrong, sorry dude, but imagine if this was you. Everyone makes decisions for one reason or another, maybe he really needed the money for something family-related, we all know that those things happen. He made a bad choice, but the point is, he's a person, and we should feel sorry that he got himself into such a mess, because his life is essentially over. Just realize, that everyone's life has a story behind it, one that you can sympathize with in most cases.

Please refer to the Gizmodo stolen iPhone threads re: "but it's just a phone.."

If Asian manufacturers were prepared to pay this guy a million dollars for pre-release info just to make accessories for it and not copy the phone itself, the Gizmodo defence case is looking bleak in terms of potential damages...

In that case, another site offered $20,000 for the phone and then pulled out when they figured out that buying it would be illegal. So obviously that site would have been willing to pay $20,000 to Apple to buy this prototype legally. In other words, Apple _could_ have sold the prototype for at least $20,000. Which means damages to Apple were _at least_ $20,000.

Agreed.

We could offer a price for anyone who manages to use the verb effect, the noun affect, and the word allot _correctly_ in one meaningful sentence.
