One month after debuting in the Netherlands, Apple's specialized Apple Support app has gone live in the U.S. App Store, reports TechCrunch. The app gives Apple users an easy way to get support for their devices on the go.

The app is designed to mimic Apple's dedicated support website, providing a list of Apple devices owned by the user and giving them access to documentation for those devices. The app also allows users to schedule repairs in an Apple retail store or natively chat with Apple's support staff. Once they conclude their chat session, users can see their recent support history.

The Apple Support app was first rumored last November, when Sonny Dickson debuted screenshots of the app early in its development.

Apple Support is available in the App Store for free. [Direct Link]

I think I might use it now. My iPhone 6 is having some odd battery behaviors. I'll update this post when I'm done.

EDIT: Good News Everyone! The App works perfectly. The Bad News is that they said my iPhone's diagnostics determines that it does indeed need a battery replacement.

Funny the App Store search can't find it yet. Caching fail. But the app link works.

Odd. Searched for the app and had to scroll a bit to find it. Surprised this was not at the top considering its their own app.

Just in time for the Christmas holiday! Glad to see an app for this though. With so many blockers needed to surf anymore, it makes it easier to work though via an app.

Go under apps made by apple and it's right there. No searching or anything.

At least I can make Genius appointments from my phone again! I just have to open a separate app from the Apple Store app!

Seriously, why did they have to make a separate app for this?

Can't tell if good or bad thing...
Good: They are actually focusing on customer service.
Bad: They are so bad at the products that they needed a dedicated app to assist the customers.

Can't book genius appointments anymore in the Apple Store app, I'm assuming you can in this .... but ... not available in Canada. ****. You.

I really gotta stop reading the comments on this website. It's nothing but negative whiners haha. Somehow this app being released is Apple admitting that they are terrible and are doomed and just not the same since Steve died. Man, it's so far from the average person's perception it isn't even funny. Just a cesspool of negativity.

Agreed. I might just stick to my threads and occasional funny posts.

This is the best news out of Apple in some time,

Backhanded compliment? Perhaps. But this looks like a much-needed app.

Uhhh hi Apple Support. I updated my computer and it no longer tells me how much battery life I have left.

Apple Support: You're welcome.

That feature was taken away because it was found to not be accurate with the new version of macOS and new hardware. You can still see it in activity monitor

The app isn't live in Canada yet. Odd that Apple would remove support functionality from the App Store app before launching this one in various countries.
