Regarding the A15 generations of iPhone, I think I know what Apple will do in the far future: The first ones to lose support will obviously be the regular 13 and 13 mini. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 will enjoy at least one or two more iOS updates, because the difference between 4 and 6GB of RAM is a substantial change. Actually, I think there will be more difference regarding iOS support between the 13 and the 13Pro/14, than between those and the A16 devices. Because the A16 is almost a rebranded A15, there are little changes...
I have a feeling that Apple might keep the 13 series supported longer than they expected, because there's a non-negligable amount of users who are using it due to the sizes offered, and won't upgrade until Apple offers another non-phablet size phone.

It's 2023 and a feature we're just getting "interactive widgets" eh?...

At least the space program is back on track with upcoming moon landings, and cars are coming with autonomous drive modes.. something thats more technically impressive

Nothing will surprise me until they combine iPhone and iPad mini as a folding phone

I haven't used Android since 2012, but the overall brilliance of the GUI (compared to dumbed down iOS GUI) I still miss. Doing anything on Android was so much faster, needing half, or even less as many boop boop boop boops around the screen, and far less finger travel, to get anyhing done. At least I can use the far superior Google keyboard thank the Lord.

HOW ABOUT JUST GIVE US A BACK BUTTON APPLE!!!!
You do have a back button. It is a swipe right at the bottom of the screen for moving between apps, and a swipe right anywhere else for moving back within apps.

Apple can say that iOS 17 will have interactive widgets and then

1) it will take developers 15 months to update their apps and

2) developers will make interactive widgets exclusive to a subscription
How many developers have required a subscription for widgets? Why would they do so now?

Why are App's both a widget and an icon at the same time? An App should only need to be shown as a widget or an icon. This would free up icon spaces. A widget behaves exactly like an icon so why the need to have both. When widgets showed up in iOS 14 I first made a widget for the weather app. I was prepared for the weather app icon to expand into a widget instead to great disappointment an entirely new window was created leaving behind the weather app icon as wasted screen space.

How I miss the days when I couldn’t wait for WWDC and then for the release of the new OS’s later in the year. Not necessarily a direct criticism of Apple of course. With such a mature product like the iPhone, there’s hardly anything left to do in terms of exciting changes and updates. Now quality-control on the other hand, Apple, there’s a LOT to do!

Would this replace new emojis as the main feature in OS updates? If so, it still would not have any real world advantage to the main user base whatsoever. Seemingly the OS's will only receive updates for update sake nowadays. And for security reasons of course.
