Useful computer or overgrown phone?

7" or 10" or both? OSX or iPhone OS?

To really be useful for what I want an OS X version would be most useful. To carry on with the iPhone coattails it seems as if the iPhone OS would win out. At the present time I have no plans to purchase one of these rumored tablets, but I also got my first Mac in 1984 because I did not want to purchase an Intel powered computer. Now look, if I want another new Mac it has to be an Intel Mac. So my purchase over 3 years ago of an Intel Mac Pro means that planning & doing is not always the same.

Not going to be 'cheap' for sure. I only hope it gets compelling feature sets – for one, don't you think an apple tablet lying around in the living room would be the perfect universal remote for home entertainment, lighting and appliances, in addition to being an entertainment/computing device in and by itself? :D

There's already an app for that, for the iPhone, and it's tiny, it fits in my pocket, and I can make phone calls on it.

Why do I need a tablet to duplicate its features and look pretty sitting on my coffee-table? I can reach into my POCKET and do the same thing. Bigger ≠ Better!

People, UE3's capabilities enable game developers to create far more than just first person shooters. I have personally created an adventure/puzzle game with UE3. Some of my colleagues have done side-scrolling platform games. Some of them retro top-down camera games. I'm obviously ecstatic that UE3 is working on an iPhone engine. Can't wait for it to be fully fleshed.

The iPhone needs infrared so that it can be a universal remote.

Site = macRUMORS.com

Not really a site about believing it when you see it. lol

;)

This site also leads to broken hopes and dreams for many concerning getting hyped over an upcoming release or to be released/rumoured product from :apple:.

:apple: iSlate = I have lost interest long time ago in galaxy far far away. :p:D

nah what it really needs is for the BlueTooth to remove all its limitations. Surprised that there are not many products on the market to replace IR with BT, so much more flexibility IMO.
