After watching the videos, I'm going to go out on a limb and throw in my support to this being real.

When I first heard about the 'missing iPhone and subsequent death' I was thinking how could it possibly have been iPhone prototypes. You're telling me that 19 days after we get the 3GS there is a newer and better iPhone ready for testing in Cupertino?

The fifteen devices were Tablets! That's why things resulted in suicide. Foxconn is in the final phase of tablet manufacturing! The AP was told 'iPhone' but comeon, it was a new device.

its still possible. Recall that the original iphone took 2 years of development for Apple. I'm sure OS X Snow Leopard was in development during 3GS development and we'll see some of the improvements trickle to the 3GS replacement next summer.

I'm hoping for the following:
* OMAP4 cpu ~ with OS X SMP support!!
* LED flash with a better camera (5MP no more is needed); maybe even Liquid Lens technology to give true Optical zoom without adding bulk.
* Built in Pre-Amp/Amp using the DLP core so that musicians could plug in their Guitar (using a 3.5mm jack adapter) into the headset jack (dual connector) and record a session. This would be great for bus/train trips. But maybe I'm crazy here.

I don't think they want a flash in their devices... If they wanted it, the should have done this already. And realy; a led flash... it does not perform that good

You never know. Apple might be holding off the Camera Flash for the next model iPhone.

Also, a flash on a tablet? I think that would be foolish.

The iPhone is used as a camera, hence it would benefit from a flash. A tablet is a computer. IF anything the camera is going to be front facing (towards the user) and used like a webcam. Not that many webcams have a LED "Flash". Also, it will doubtfully be brighter than the screen backlight anyways so it should be casting just as much light.
