If it was real, Apple's lawyers would have a cease and desist sent out so fast you wouldn't know what hit you.
Second, if it's real, why not just turn on the lights, get a decent camera, and take some real pictures? If you really have easy access to this thing, why not just convince us and post some good pics?
I think you've got a point there about the device and leaning it against the wall. He originally said he couldn't show us it because it was against the wall which would leave us to believe that he has some sort of hardware but now he changes his story and says that it's just a dev kit? I'm still not convinced and I think he might have got the iphone os to somehow work with a desktop or something like that. The only reason I don't think this is real is the OP seems fishy. If he can't speak english that good, how is he a devoloper? And he seems to just be making excuses as people find faws in his videos. When someone said Why he isnt showing the actual device he said it was against a wall. Now its a dev kit?
Im not believen it.
This is my first post on Macrumors but i would just like to say i think this video is real. and i also think apple had something to do with it getting posted, and here's why:
1. The videos are everywhere. I find it hard to believe apple would let everyone show them if they didnt think the showing served a purpose. this brings me to point 2
2. Assuming this is real, these videos really help apple. They soften the ground for releasing the tablet the way it is. meaning people wont be shocked when they see it for the first time, as not only have they seen the concept of iphone apps running in small windows inside the tablet, they also have had time to like it. Most of the backlash to such an idea has been already posted as response to this so-called fake video, and now there is more room for the complements that come later (notice how Gizmodo, in a very short period of time, has already gone through both phases).
3. On one hand, people wont be surprised as to the general concept of the tablet, but on the other hand they wont be bored. these videos reveal the concept but very little else. the reason they are so short is that it leaves much to the imagination. Also, the OS in the video is obviously unfinished, leaving the "wow" factor for the announcement of the final finished version.
All these points are assuming this is real, which i do assume because the pictures/videos seem so tailored to apple's needs.
landscape keyboard? im not saying this is fake, but i think it looks too much like a iphone, with the app store, and the safari buttons on the left...etc. if its real, i hope this is just a very very early prototype. and if its fake, its still an awsome fake. gotta give some credit to whoever made it if it end up not being real. i hope to see more pics/vids, and not blurry ones. maybe a screenshot?
oh, and i LOVE how windows fade in when you open them. i wish that was in leopard too
Yes, this is the video from post #164. Please note the post #161 in the bbackround visible at 0:12. I don'tbelieve that somebody can produce a fake video in that short time (1:23).Having not been able to download the Megaupload link, I think this is the same video that was posted for download for those who also can't get into it: Video.
Hey all! If you don't feel like wading through pages and pages of forum posts just to find the videos, I've archived all the YouTube versions of Gonewiththewind's videos in this updating story. I'll be scouring the boards all day long, but feel free to shoot me a message if I happen to miss any more!
